GTA SA ESRB rating revoked

Personally, I find it a bit stupid to change the rating because.

Mature=17+,and AO=18+. OH wow, Hillary, one big friggin' difference.

What Viper Zero said was right.

Interesting take, Spuds. But I`d like to use your post here as a springboard for my opinon (hope ya don`t mind!). First off, I`m a staunch conservative. You could say I`m on the Christian right. Maybe as a Christian I shouldn`t be playing GTA games at all. But that`s MY call, not the governments. Now let`s take a closer look at the liberal left`s REAL agenda. Yeah, Hilary Clinton is probably tryin` to appeal to those in the center politically or even those on the far right, like me. But you must remember one of the first rules about liberals in general; they want BIG government. They want to be able to micro-manage anything & everything the public does. So knowing that, Hilary Clinton getting ANYTHING banned is a victory for the left. How long have the libs in this country been trying to ban guns? A long freakin` time. What about the various smoking bans now being enforced in the U.S. lately? I know this is a very broad view, and may go beyond the scope of this thread. But let it be a lesson to you young people who might read this & may or may not care about politics. This is liberalism at work.
 
Smoking bands in US, about time, I went down to Las Vegas last summer and I'm positive that the blue smoke cause some health problem for me. Smoking isn't a problem in Canada, can't smoke indoors.

Big Gov't-- See bush administration-- added an entirely new a department (layer of beuracracy).

Smoking bans occuring in the blue states as well as red how???

As a person politically in the middle-- I detest the left and right-- both are striving to restrict my liberty-- excessive regulations from the left, eroding civil liberties on the right (patriot act <-- I'm sure that name wasn't politicized-- pretty subtle name)--

I find it ironic that the right complains that PBS is too liberal-- from a news stand point the news hour with Jim Lehrer is very much in the middle-- I can't stand the US network news, CNN, nor Fox news or other conservative outlets....

I found a clip of "hot coffee" just like I thought-- they show the end of the date from the inside of your girlfriends houses... I can't believe they put that in there-- its not overly graphic-- just wondering how they thought it could possibly end up in the final version of the game
 
this is funny, when my friend bought GTA:SA, it was the same day when they announced in the news that gta is ceased or something. i guess my friend got lucky :dunce:
 
the sex scene is not even in the code. they're trying to do the same thing with the sims 2 because some dude made a mod for it so it shows penises and vaginas. my friend ryan wrote an open letter to the dude explaining how ridiculous he was.

Guess I should`ve mentioned that President Bush isn`t as conservative as I`d like. He`s done things & said things I don`t agree with. But he`s certainly better than the alternative: John Kerry, Al Gore. Yikes.
I don`t remember complaining about PBS, ya lost me there. But when I do watch the news occasionally, it`s Fox. I always hear liberals complain about Fox being "conservative", so they must be doing something right.
If you`re truly in the political center, then you`re a rarity. Usually those who say they are in the center politically are fence sitters waiting to see how the majority votes or what the majority does before making a decision about anything. Like`em or not, I have core beliefs & they aren`t for sale nor are they negotiable. You`ll always know where I stand, because like I mentioned before, I`m on the far right politically. I get my truth from Lord Jesus Christ. If you detest that, then so be it.
 
i just got the PC games magazine, a german gaming magazine (which is sold to everyone of course) and they even put the hot coffe mod on their DVD. no controversy whatsoever here, and the magazine's dvd has to be approved for not containing anything dangerous to the youth before they can sell it.

they even tested a game called LULA 3D in this issue, which is total rubbish and contains "real" sex scenes (meaning totally nude and featuring all those evil body-parts...) and that is rated for 16 year olds in germany. :D
 
Really, this is not what the videogame community needs..neither the companies that produce the games or the gamers that play them. There's a phrase with "hit" and "fan" that springs to mind.
Of course it may be Take Two/R* did nothing wrong. But if they did there are a lot of political careers that could be made on the back of this.

I am confused as to why a game that may have sexual content is not allowed for 17 yr olds. Is the age of consent in America 18 yrs and over?
 
Here's hoping they come to a rational conclution. Junk gets left on the disc all the time, the only difference here is that this stuff can be considered pornographic.
The fact that it's there at all is evidence that they intended to include it in the game. It's not in the game though, so that means they either decided not to put it in because they didn't want to push it, or they decided not to put it in to avoid the AO rating. No deception involved.
 
And now kids will want it even more because it's "Adult" and since "adult" means curse words and boobs it'll be even bigger of a stew pot..
 
I personally think that since the game is being re-rated AO they should make the 'hot coffee' available in the play. I mean, what is going to happen, there is no A0+ or AOXXX rating....

I have the ps2 and Xbox versions....after having played through the ps2 version, I don't see the point of going through the game just to see some clothed sex scenes...if I want sex scenes I'll just watch Cinemax!

"The hot coffee won't stop pouring. Just a day after the FTC opened a formal investigation of the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas "hot coffee" scandal, a woman is now suing publisher Take-Two Interactive for "false, misleading, and deceptive practices."

another case where the plaintive will come away in the hole with legal fees.

I don't understand how someone who bought the game for someone who shouldn't have it to start with thinks that it is the fault of the game maker....

that is like suing the maker of a movie that showed sex and violence and was rated 'R' but you took your 8 year old anyway.....you knew it wasn't appropiate.

I bet she will say 'it was just a game, I didn't think it would cause any harm'....look lady, that is why it has a rating - just like the movies....
 
There is a common mindset in this country by non-gamers that video games are for children-- if they played any GTA for 10 minutes they would realize that this game was not designed for kids-- language, violence, and sex--- they haven't gone back to VC and edited out the sex scenes from the film studio cutscenes-- it was obvious what was going on.....

also the cutscenes between Maria and the Asian woman (I forget her name) from III....

hot coffee is so much worse-- because it shows pelvic thrust :drool:

the politicians are just going for the publicity.

I just don't understand why Take Two Interactive's stock hasn't taken a huge hit???? GTA is their bread and butter.
