The hangar sucks, my invincible helicopter keeps getting eaten.
I think the garage system mostly works, except that they still don't store enough. I want to be able to buy a warehouse or two if I feel I need it. How much code is it to store a car? If it's more then a kilobyte, they're doing it wrong.
Additionally, I'd like to be able to buy spawn points at your properties. Almost all the NPCs get one, why can't you? Why does multi-millionare CJ have to keep stealing Sweet's lame ass Greenwood every time he leaves home?

You can store a plane in the massive hangar. I agree with, Blake, I'm afraid Dion. I like things realistic, too, to a gaming point.

Well, it may not be realistic, but the advantage in game play and the positives for it out weight it imo.

Exactly. I've wanted that idea ever since GTA 3. I don't think you should have to buy them, though. I think if you park a car a certain distance from your save point, the car should automatically save there.

I also was disappointed to find you could hardly (properly) park a large amount of cars in the large hangar/garage at Verdant Meadows Abandoned Airstrip. I know you can open the garage, hope back in and drive it in, but cars disappear that way. I like Emohawk's idea about buying warehouses. This way I could have my wish, and Small_Fryz could almost have his.

Why do i have to comprimise!

 ;)

But i would like to be able to deck your house out with a few things (usefull things!!) like a police bribe?, Armour, weapons, cars etc, to all spawn. Pay $10,000 and you always have a police bribe spawn at that save place. Pay 10,000 and you always have armour at that save place. Pay 100,000 and you always have a heat seeking rocket launcher. Pay $20,000 for an extra car park, and this could be drawn up by a yellow rectangle, where if you park your car their, it spawns when you reload. Or even, pay X amount and build a mini multilayer undreground car park, that goes under your house?.

hehe

so many possibilities.

This way you could make 3 - 4 good save houses.

I wish Police Bribes worked this way:

If you have 1 or 2 stars and you get a Police Bribe, the star remains. If a cop pulls you over or tries to arrest you, it shows an animation of you bribing the Police Officer, and you pay him an amount of money. If you don't have enough money, you can't use it.

If you have more than 1 or 2 stars, you have to use a Pay 'N' Spray.

I also hope they add the Mafia style wanted level. For a minor offense, they just want to give you a ticket, so if you pull over, they take money ... maybe if you don't have enough, you become in debt and Police Officers continually harrass you. If you commit a major offense, the police will try to arrest you, so when you pull over, instead of getting a ticket, you get arrested and put in the Paddy Wagon. If you are continually disobediant, or try to avoid getting a ticket, Police Officers will try to arrest you.

If you kill many people, try to evade Police by shooting at them, shoot at a Police Officer, or commit something massive like that, Police Officers will shoot at you in order to take you down.

I loved that system. I loved that game. Man I want it back... :indiff:

And it will spawn in there no matter how many times you blow it up and launch it into the middle of the ocean? If you mean it just stays there untill you move it, that's just like a garage without a door, isn't it?
Usually my garage is full of special/modified cars that I don't want to take the risk of loosing, I want to be able to purchase a spawn point so;
a) I have something I can just hop in and go; I don't have to worry about loosing it, and I don't have to stand in the street for five minutes waiting for some non-Perennial/cabbie/walton/etc. to come along.
b) I have a convienient spawn point for rare cars.

Buying the spawn point would be another part of the evolution you see throughout the game. Maybe at the beginning, you can only afford a BMX spawn, but by the end of the game you can throw cash away putting a Turismo outside every property.

What's inconvenient about that? You're getting a decent sized "garage without a door" that allows you to load up the game, go outside, hop in your car and go. This can be used for rare cars, modified cars, or anything.

I'm talking about parking a certain distance from your save house, though. If you blow it up or launch it into the ocean, then that car will obviously not be saved. If they incorporate this like a garage feature, then there should be the same amount of risk in losing a car here as there would be in losing a car in a garage.

For you maybe. For me, and probably for Jimmy too, it would be a disadvantage in game play. For many other people too…

Rockstar is heading in the direction of emulated a real world environment as much as possible anyway, so I doubt that your idea would be adopted (:D).

 ;)

Blake

Well, okay. I don't dislike the idea, I just like mine more. Goes with my whole property construction thing, which I may or may not have made some huge rambling post about.

I would like the city to be more interactive. Or even change a bit over time, certain things get knocked down or destroyed :trouble: and they get rebuilt or replaced. Nothing massive, but just for a bit of change.

I still would like to see some extreme weather, even winds that are too strong to walk in, or can pick your or other peoples cars up and roll them down the road etc. Tidal surges. Have some diasters. A big fire that blocks a certain road or building for 5 - 6 game days, that blows out lots of smoke. Earthquake? that breaks a few buildings or roads and then they get repaired over the next 15 - 20 game days. Of coarse even this will get repititive but at least the city changes a lot more.

Basically a more interactive environment.

Also want the missions like VC, they had real purpose to them, unlike SA where the real intended meaning was a little lost, and at the end your not much better off then when you started. in Vice City you were nobody to the King of Vice, with a massive mansion and plenty of buisnesses.

Of all of this i would love a more extreme/ interactive weather and more interactive city.

VC has a population of 1.8 million but as far as I found-- only one toilet (apartment 3C)-- you think the mansion would have one-- guess Diaz peed in his pool.

If they are doing the game on blu-ray then not only can they use higher quality voice samples this time around they could record 2 different charactors for the main storyline. They would not be limited to only using one main charactor. I say We get to choose male or female. And its our choice by playing to determin the sexuallity of the charactor and that would determin what people say to us like what cloths you wore in SA like in Fable. Oblivion uses half the dvd for voices alone.

But then even more things have to be recorded twice … you wouldn’t talk the same way to a female as you would to a male in many cases, and it means that most of the story would have to be recorded twice so that no-one says anything suss: “Hey, I’m Rico. You the man with the big cojones?”

:dopey:

Ignoring space, this would be too much effort for such little reward. I mean will the games selling point be that you can play as a male or female? I doubt it…

Blake

Who says you have to choose one? Two characters, two interwoven plot threads.
Of course, that would probably make for an even more directionless plot then SA had.

They would be smart to make a game like WOW but in GTA style and you didn't have to pay to play it. GTA would be a better RPG were you make your character, level him or her up, play missons, and be totally free roaming.

What I hope also will be in the next GTA and can see is Animals around the game.

There is animals in SA. In the water...fishes, turtle ,a group of jellyfishes and delfins ;)
But you can't shoot them :D

Theres little to no effort in recording spoken dialogue more than once in different ways(All of Oblivions text is spoken dialoque). The point of recording two voices is the limitless disc space. It would also make it more interesting to play through the game a second time. I would like playig as a bad ass female.

But you’d still buy the game if you couldn’t play as a female wouldn’t you?

Blake

The primary target market for the Grand Theft Auto series are males between the ages of 15 and 30; whether 15 actually is a legal age to buy the game or not is another story, but it's quite obvious that they are partly targeted. It's rare to see or hear of a female playing Grand Theft Auto, whether you like it or not.

Now, some males may possibly want to play as a female - sure. But this would be another rare occurrence. Other males may play as this female character, but the novelty would wear off and the effort that is put into creating different dialogue, actions, re-actions, storylines, etc - would be undone.

It would be quite an effort. There may be plenty of disc-space for this, but it would require a lot of work from the voice-over actors and Rockstar. The character's dialogue and reactions to different situations would have to be completely redone. The animations, physical actions, physical reactions, and the like, would all have to be redone. Pedestrian reactions and voices would have to be redone. Storylines fit for a female (even a "badass" female would have to have some aspects of the storylines altered) would have to be created. All of this for, basically, an end result of an unidentifiable rise in sales which would not benefit the loads of work that would have to be put in and the payments to extra voice actors, animation actors, etc - and also something which would rarely be used.

Two or more male characters, and if more, a possible female character is a possibility, but I still think they'll stick to the one character and work a lot more on the storyline and the replay value after the disappointment of San Andreas. Expect a lot more replay value, better graphics, less glitches and better extra features for the free roam aspect of the game.

Hey, you forgot that at least one 40 year old likes it too!! :D ;)

I want to say that I don`t want to have a female as the main character in GTA. Sure, I love girls as much as the next flaming hetero guy, but I don`t want to be one!

I don't know ... mentally you're more below the target age than above it, ya' big kid. :p

The only reason you say that is because it`s TRUE!! :dopey:

Recently I told my dad that I`ll probably still be playing GTA when I`m his age(62). By that time, maybe my mentality will have grown to that of perhaps a 30 year old. :sly:

San Andreas was the best game ever and still the best game for me... Nothing can be compared to that in my opinion. As far as my opinion goes, they should make a map even bigger than San Andreas and dont lock the cities like the previous GTA's... I dont really care about the graphics, I dont care about the cars, all I want is gang wars and ****in HUUUUUUUGE MAP !!!

i think it would rock to actually have to spend a certain amount of time in prison like a whole 24 minutes or a whole day in the game and then have to see a probation officer for a while, and i think it would be cool if you could pick the style of gang for example street gang, biker gang, mafia, drug ring stuff like that. also what your person looks like example skin tone, height, weight, how he walks like have gangster swager(street gang, up tight(mafia), or someone who tries to intimidate with there stature. and i think there should be types of mafia like the irish MOB russian MOB or italian MOb stuff like that.

and drug use i think that should be in there, it would make the game more interesting and you could go car hopping to get money to support your habbit( car hopping is when you break into a car and get what ever you can in 20 seconds).and i would like to see more modified vehicles, i was pissed when i couldnt modify any sport bikes, or make any " lowrider" trucks.

and thats what i would like to see in this game.

Put hydros on a Bobcat, nose up ass down and drag that sucker!

I have to agree with you. San Andreas is the best game I ever bought.
Still playing it today (just about to play it :sly: )...There is so much things to do. I cant wait untill I have 100%!!! (Currently at 93.05)

The only thing I want Rockstars to fix for the next game it's the frickin' lag! And some of the stupid glitches/bugs!
And I want alot bigger cities...And better graphics :)

I reckon the next GTA on PS3 could let you travel across a whole nation. Or even 2 nations.
No. San Andreas is a "state" yet it's far smaller than the smallest state in the USA. It's really only a few miles from one side of the map to the other (how many states in the US can you drive across in 5 minutes?), and the cities in it are only a fraction of the size of their real life counterparts (go checkout Google Earth and zoom around Los Angeles or San Francisco to see how much bigger they really are).

There's just no practical way to build a realistically sized country and squeeze it onto a disk (even one of them fancy new Bluray discs). Imagine the amount of time required to design and build a game area hundreds or thousands of times bigger in order to represent a realistic state or country. And imagine how boring it would be! Look at California, the vast majority of it is thousands of square miles of desert, farmland, forests, etc. What a bore and a waste of time, effort and disk space!

No, I think San Andreas was a well designed game - 3 large cities and enough countryside in between to keep you busy for a long while, but not as enormously boring as a real life state. There's another aspect of "realism" I want well out of my video games .

As for this being the 7th game in the series - isn't it the 8th (GTA: Liberty City Stories)? And I've never understand the idea that Vice City or San Andreas weren't really "sequels" for whatever reason. They gave you more new stuff than a lot of sequels - brand new game area, new central character, brand new characters, new features (helicopters, planes, moddable cars, a whole new set of new vehicles, etc.), improved graphics engine, etc.

I'm sure the next GTA will be more of the same, but with a vastly improved graphics and physics engine. I'd like to see properly damaged cars - with hubcaps flying off, the roof getting squashed if you roll it over, the engine area getting deformed if you hit a lamppost, etc.
