Welcome to the First round of the GTKA. First stop on the calendar this season is the scenic Eiger Nordwand located in Switzerland near the Bernese Alps. This circuit has long straights mixed in with some very tight sections. Be sure to watch out for the jump into turn one, followed by a series of very tight and bumpy, but manageable, corners.

Layout:

My Lounge Opens at 1:50pm EST
5 minutes for members to join
Qualifying will be 10 minutes. I will be keeping track of time.
Format of qualifying will be you can exit pit lane but you must stop at the end of the bridge and others must line up behind that person. Qualifying will begin when I say time starts. More or less like Formula One without knockouts.

1st=30

*DNFs will result in no points

Damn, what a way to start off haha. I have to go to a graduation on the 18th. Oh well, hopefully I can catch up decently in the other rounds.
 
This track will produce some exciting racing, that's for sure! Some bumpy sections that are very tricky!
 
Ive got something coming up that I might have to delay this for. I'll tell you guys Friday if it will be delayed or not.
 
how do you sign up for this? and it's for karts right?

Yey, Real karting during the day, virtual karting in the evening (I'm in the uk so it will be 7pm here).
 
Sweet! I'll probably be online by 1:30. I've never joined anybody's private lounge before so I want to make sure I have time to figure it out.

All you have to do is go to GT Mode and find Community. Then click on the the person you are looking for than go click on the little coffee cup and join.
 
Silver how do you turn off tcs? I'm practising however all I get is.
Transmission (blacked out)
Driving line
Skid Recovery (blacked out)
I have tried adjustments on my dfgt however they are also blacked out.
 
The host is who makes all the settings. No need to worry
 
And also how are you guys coping with the bumps and jumps on this course, my kart bounces around when landing and nearly always spins?
 
Does anyone feel like making a video and uploading to Youtube so we all can see?

There are certain lines that you can take to avoid them. But the jump to turn one is always a gamble and will be interesting to see.

I vote to NEVER do Eiger in a Kart ever again.
 
Quite the interesting race. You just gotta find the right line. But learn to like it as we end here lol. Indy road course might replace this race next season. But congrats to GTP_Senninha on the win.
 
thanks for a great race very chellengen track spun 4 times i think. i had a great batlle with suprfluous it was very hard but fair. :)
 
Yeah, those bumps were a lot more dangerous with a full load of fuel. I'll have to do some practicing before the finale. Had fun though!

Turns 3 and 4 is what got most people. You mostly wanted to take the outside lines threw the tight section and stay away from the edge of the road coming to the bridge. Was pretty amazing when Seinninha and I went off the jump side by side. Still have no idea how i managed to save the landing as when i landed my whole Kart jerked to the side.
 
Turn 4 got me a couple times when I got too far inside. The jump before turn 1 is what got me the most, it spun me the first 10 laps in a row. I had practiced the right speed to go over it without losing it, but it was different under race conditions.

There is that one spot where if you landed you would just bounce all the way down. Happened to me once but i managed to keep it straight. On the start i almost spun into the pits, i was surprised no one did during the race as it happened to me when i was practicing a couple times.

I remember Vimeo can host videos that can go longer than 15 minutes, so a Full race can be shown on there. For YouTube, I believe you might need some sort of special account.

Sorry for missing out on the first race, but I took some time off from GTPlanet for a couple of weeks after the finish of the most recent SuperGT season. I hope to make it for Round 2 on January 2nd. :)
