With Senninha taking 2 in a row we head to Tsukuba, located in Shimotsuma. Tsukuba is widely known for the events that take place there. Such as the time attack challenges and D1 GP. One quick note is we will be using the Moto GP layout that has a small right hander after the Dunlop Bridge(shown on map). If you fail to make this turn and run the normal layout you will be given a severe points deduction.

Please post if you can make it to the race or not. Thank you.

Still deciding if this is going to be an Enduro or not. So I'll post a poll.

I will be there Saturday. One question about the Enduro option; how many laps are you thinking about running? I haven't run the karts on this track yet, so this evening I will do a couple practice races and give my thoughts on running this track as the Enduro. It's a fairly short track (as far as non-kart tracks go) with some good technical bits and a long drafting opportunity at the end, so I think it might be a good candidate for a long race.

Im mainly going on time. So if a normal race is 20 minutes, then the enduro is 40 minutes. I think everyone will have to make a pit stop in this race if it will be.

Also would anyone like to contribute a prize car for 2nd and 3rd place series winners. Obviously the 3rd place car can't be as valuable as 2nd and so on. I've already got a 4mil car to give so if anyone would like to contribute that would be great!

i have a bugatti veyron brand new 0 km done it could maybe be for 2nd place in the series
 
I'll contribute a free 0 mile Enzo for third :)

I'll also attempt to make this race, hopefully my friend won't show up right before it starts this time :D
 
So, I did several laps around this track last night in the Kart and discovered an issue. I'm not sure if using the right-hand chicane after the Dunlop sign will work out very well. First (and this might only apply to me), I had no idea that chicane was there or that you could use it until last night and I'm sure I will miss it and go straight more than once. That's in theory, of course, because the second issue is that there seems to be some kind of bump right under the Dunlop sign and every time I tried to turn right and take the chicane I'd hit that bump and spin out. Out of about 25-30 tries I only managed to make it through there 3 times without spinning, and I only accomplished those by going quite slow through the right-hander before the Dunlop. The bump is severe enough that it even tossed me a few times when I just went straight and bypassed the chicane, but as long as I had the wheel straightened up before I hit the bump I would be fine.

So, I just wanted to throw that out there and see if anybody else had encountered this mystery bump. There is also a hidden bump at the entrance to the final sweeping right-hander before the start/finish line, but it never spun me out. The karts seem to find bumps on these tracks that I've never noticed in cars, probably due to their lack of suspension. But I don't think I'll be looking forward to 40 minutes of spinning out on every lap. :(
 
I discovered the bump too.
 
i also think it would be better to run on the normal layout but it is more fun to have te chicane in the layout but the bump is very big
 
To be honest if you take a very tight line you can make it through. But either way your going to hit the bump no matter the layout.
 
it is fine for me i also noticed the tigth line what times are you doing i have not done alot of practice my best time is 109.2xx
 
I didn't really go for a fast lap. The bump isn't that large for me i can easily correct it. If you guys think the bump is that big we could always go to Eiger :sly:
 
Yes, but in one configuration you hit the bump while going straight so it's no big penalty. With the chicane configuration you hit the bump while in a very tight and fast turn which will lead to a spin more times than not. I mentioned it because I think we all want this championship to be decided by skill and talent, not whose lucky enough to avoid the bumps, and it looks like this track will be one that's decided by whose luckiest.

I suppose we will all just have to decide which will bring the bigger penalty; cutting the chicane or spinning into the wall. Lol

I found the tight, inside line you were talking about that avoids the bump. Hopefully I won't be diving in there 2-wide and be stuck on the outside!! I did some hot lapping last night and was able to just squeak out a 1:09.9 as my best. When I practiced with AI drivers though I had to avoid the chicane because they didn't play by our rules. So I just practiced hugging the inside of the turn while slightly lifting off the throttle to get used to the setup for the chicane.

It's nice to see that some of the kerbs on this track are more kart friendly and don't spit you out when you get within a few inches of them! There are a couple that will bite you if you're not careful, but there are also some you can ride over with no penalty.

Tsukuba and London are the worst for randomly making your kart skip and then spin out :yuck: GL guys! 👍

We should do a 2 lap race of the ring as a race or 3 for an enduro. I did 2 races there in a row and it's pretty bearable.

On Eiger the jump to turn one can literally make your kart skip all the way down the hill.
 
Race is going to be about 18 laps since it is not going to be the enurance races. However im going to let you people decide where the enduro takes place. Your choices are:

I vote Cape Ring! I love racing karts there :D
 
I'll run some test laps at all of those tracks tonight to evaluate them. I don't mind some bumps here and there since they make things interesting.......even if you're 8 seconds down in 4th place you always know that the guys up front could hit that bump and spin!
But I think for the Enduro we should find one that's fairly smooth and fun to drive since we'll be on it for a longer period of time. I will post my thoughts this evening on which track(s) I think would be best.

All of them are pretty smooth but the other tracks all have very looooooong straights that I think would get boring in a long race. Autumn Ring was the opposite, lots of turns and elevation changes and cool scenery. It's really cool coming through the final turns and entering the stadium with all the spectators. Probably the best track I've driven in the kart.

Just wanted to clarify too, the race is Saturday this week, right?

Same a short race is ok with bumps but an in an enduro they will start to really tick you off. I would vote for Autumn ring full also for the enduro.
