Again, no details on exactly when it will start.

As for the cars, all of them are based off of the official 2011 Entries. I do know that both the Camaro and the Challenger are, in reality, severely penalized in terms of power. (The Challenger in GS isn't the 425hp SRT8, but the 325hp version of the car so that it's more competitive. And the Camaro has a restrictor adjustment on it.) So, I would love to wait until the PP system is implemented. Otherwise, we'll have to select cars to replace the Camaro and Challenger. Also, I would LOVE to conform a bit more to the official rules and will post those later.

I have the '07 MINI that I used for the recent online MINI challenge event that I could use. Hopefully, the regulations will allow me to race it. :)

As for the format of the races, what are you planning on going for?

I have not decided yet. We'll see.

But as for the regulations, I believe they only modifications they allow is an ECU. and some minor weight reductions. They allow racing suspension, but you can't adjust it. You can only change the front driver and passenger windows and those you have to remove. I mean, really, these cars are showroom stock. Which might be a problem for the Camaro and Challenger.

The minimum ride height is 3.5 inches or 88.9mm.

Good race yesterday. The Challenger seemed to start strong but ended up only completing a single lap, which sucks. Seems like if they were to actually finish a race they might actually be able to compete. They had the second fastest average speed under Rouch Jr. Mustang. But, if they get it working right, we should have the classic Challegner vs Mustang vs Camaro battle with BMW, Subaru, Porsche and Audi tossed in. Just like old times.

The next update should be coming this week it sounds like. Hopefully a PP system will be implimented with a way to decrease HP or increase weight.

It's a bit harder than Super GT. all those cars have pretty much the same weight and power. Like NASCAR and DTM. But with the Showroom Stock series like Grand Am GT and the CTSCC it's a little bit more difficult to get them even. That's why, even in real life, you've got weight and power being adjusted from race to race. Heck, Kia is still trying to get permission to add more HP out of their cars.

Also, I have replaced the Volvo with the BMW 135i. The 128 is in ST this year.

BTW, according to the entries for 2011, there is still a missing BMW Z4 M and 370Z that haven't made an appearance in the CTSCS

From what I watched yesterday, and from the official results, you're missing Porsches and WRX from GS, and the MX5 from ST. I did notice a Mazdaspeed 3 running ST as well, but don't know of a suitable car in GT5 (Atenza?)

I was actually watching the race last night with the same rough idea in mind, but bumping the HP of both classes to get certain vehicles to fit. the RUFs could take the place of the Porsche's (997=RGT, Cayman=3400), and an STi '10 could be used as well. There is an S4 running GS, but I don't have my PS3 handy to search for a suitable car.

I wish I wish that PD would have put Kia into the game for the Koup, and would have added some of the smaller American cars (Cobalt SS) to really get a good mix.

Either way, bumping HP to around 450 should be OK for the GS, and maybe 250-300 for ST, could be a way around it. I never raced GT5P, so have no experience with the PP system.

Porsche isn't in GT5 (the RUFs won't work as they're too powerful and too rare), I've got the WRX.

The Cobalt isn't in the series anymore. I think Chevy's gonna replace it with the Cruize by next season. But for now, it's not in. And yeah, I wish the Kia was in, as well.

Your HP settings are good, I think. I'd have do some testing. It's too bad we don't have the Challenger R/T and the Camaro 2SS which are the one's that are used as they've got about 375 each.

I am definitely interested With either a 370Z or a Civic!

I have not. Good news is the PP system will be back on Friday, so that should help level the playing fields.

Alright, PP system is back along with power and weight editing. I'll play around with these things this weekend and try to get testing done over the next few weeks.

I'll also be doing testing for FIA GT4 and GT3 series. Which I might just leave open but set up PP points for each class to make it even.

Anyway, I'll should have settings up eventually, and I'll be ready for Season 2.

Sounds great! I'm also interested on that FIA GT3/4 series you're cooking!
Count me in!!

I did some peaking around and I'm thinking a PP of 550 for GS and 400 for ST. I just have to get all the cars entered to the correct weight and power.

A quick glance at the PP of all the cars tells me it'll be 450PP for GS and 400PP for ST.

I'll do some testing tomorrow, but I do know some basic rules:

1. No Racing modifications or aeroparts. This is a rule straight from the real life Grand Am rule book.

2. You can add lightweight windows. I will make sure to add them all cars to incorporate it into the adjustments.

3. All aftermarket parts MUST be approved by the GTMSA sanctioning body. I will make the neccessary modifcations in testing.

4. Also, according to the Grand Am rules, only very minor suspension settings are allowed. Like the Mustang is allowed a minor ride-height adjustment. The same goes for the transmissions. As far as I can tell, the top speed of the cars is determined by Grand Am, and to change it throughout the season, you have to get permission from Grand Am. This is why Kia has been having issues. So, that's how we'll do it. Each car will have a set top speed that you have to stay at for the season. Or maybe we'll change it from race to race, but I don't think we'll need to.

5. All cars will use the same tire compound.

Remember, CTSCC is a Showroom Stock series. Meaning that, for the most part, the cars are stock. They have some weight reductions and HP upgrades, but the suspension and look is pretty much stock. So, it shouldn't be too hard to make them even.

Hope we are going with racing softs, or at least mediums...

Are we allowed to have Chassis Reinforcment on our cars?

I think so. I mean they add a roll cage to the real cars. So, I don't see why you can't in the game.

Is this going to be a race series where everyone has to get online at the same time and race each other or will it be one where everyone runs it on their own and submits their time?

Most likely we race each other online. :)

You should post the main forum in the GT5 Online thread since you will get more people.

It's here for the second season 'cause the people here I know drive clean and will help out with details and provide important information like, "Hey, this car's too fast." It was because of people's help in the first season that the Miata was determined to be WAY too fast and was, thus, excluded from competing.

We'll be racing online. It's more interesting that way. :)

Also...did some testing with the BMW Z4. The PP level for GS will be 500. I forgot racing slicks increase the PP rating. So, it SHOULD be 500 for GS and 400 for ST, but we'll see. Also, I know I can manage a 2:03 time with the BMW, but I'm sure others will be faster. However, that's pretty close to where the real life times for GS are are around Daytona Road. The fastest time for GS was 1:56. ST fastest time was 2:07, I believe. I still have some more testing, but so far, so good.

Okay, looking at the 2010 results for the CTC at Daytona...my times are only 2-5 seconds off. Yeah, apparently, the new asphalt is a good 4-5 seconds FASTER than the old surface in GT5....kinda makes you wish they'd update the game with the new surface, huh?

Alright. GS Testing is done for now. Here are my results:

As you can see, everything's pretty even except the Nissan. Obviously, that one's not going to be at 500PP as it's a smidge too fast. Not too bad though. Should just need a little extra weight and maybe a few less HP and it should be even.

Also, I've got pics of the cars coming, as well, so watch that first page.

This looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. I can't decide what class I want to run in though.

Let us know the final setting for the Z, most likely I'll go with that one!
Will do some testing of my own before making a final choice.
