Haven't been around much Bdub, sorry I missed this, good to see you around again. Yeah it's been quite a while should be interesting. I hope I make enough races to make it interesting for me..lol.

Speaking of which, I am here this weekend, on call all weekend but so long as I have nothing to take care of workwise I should be here for the Laguna tune up. How long is the race at Laguna? 17/18 laps?

It's 20 laps. No one should have to pit.

so are we still having the pre season races starting tomorrow? will we just race once or will we have a few sprint races?

Got called in to work...might be a quickee...have to wait and see...

Turns out it was a quickee...be there shortly..

If this afternoon is any indication, there is a lot of promise in this series. BZ struggled with his setup a bit, while Cnd (Miata) and I (Honda) had a very close race. In the final lap we passed going into the corkscrew, went side by side through the corkscrew and finished a tenth or two apart. Seems the Honda and Miata are pretty close, not sure about the Volks, need some more VW drivers to show up so we can have a real go!!

Well said JP. 👍 I think the server issues kept more people from joining. Let me know if anyone wants to run some laps.

yeah..... i had a tough time. i would have been a factor in the sprint a little bit more if i hadnt have went off into turn one:dunce: silly me though. i'll have to get my setup done soon cause im about 4 secs off the pace:scared:

I think you can get your setup down. 👍 Let me or JP know if you want some help.

I would focus on getting the car to oversteer. At Laguna Seca, if your car doesn't slide a little in Degner (the left turn after the corkscrew) then it isn't oversteering enough.

if we are having pre season practicing and such this saturday i dont know if i can stay too long because i have to go to homecoming at 5pm cst

I more than likely won't be home on Saturday. If anyone wants to have a preseason race on Saturday then you guys can have one. If I am able to be on then I will organize one.

I think we should go ahead and start the season after this weekend.

Hi cnd, I'd really like to help you...

Degner is turns 7-8 at Suzuka.

Rainey Curve is Turn 9 at Laguna Seca.

There is no Degner at Laguna Seca. Sorry for the confusion...

My bad  I had been testing at Suzuka earlier that day which is why I said that. Will you be racing at our preseason race this weekend? I might not be there, so I need someone to run the show if you guys want to race.

I'll be salmon fishing this weekend so I won't make it. Should be good for the following weekend.

The only thing I may say about the Mx5 for your series Cnd is that it will undoubtably have better tyre wear in the race so would pull away from the Civic easily in the later 10 laps. So another 10kgs could help even that out a bit.

VWs problem is it just lacks the overall grip to hang with the other two.

I see your point. That's pretty much common sense. If you guys want +10 kgs to the MX-5 then that's what I will do. I don't want an overpowered car.

I should be up for it,

Yay Dave!! And me, too!!

As for the +10 kg., I'd say, should the Miata win the first preseasons, and the first round, then change it. Without, you're throwing numbers around, and, I guess wishy-washy leadership will lead to WMA Karts Syndrome. :indiff:

I didn't think that i would struggle so much in an FF car, I'm close to 4 seconds off at laguna seca, I have never owned or driven an FF car in real life, the closest i've gotten to a FF is my partners '00 legacy B4 STI, but even still the way i drive it i dont notice the front wheel part of the drive train, turbo spools up and im sideways, and I haven't really found a FF in the game that cooks my noodle to tune up,

Dave, you've come to the right person. I've got thousands of tips for FF. I've got an FF track car, afterall.

cheers bud, everything i do to it makes things worse lol, next time your on PSN can you send me some for the VW, i was going to use the civic but i think all spots are fillled,

No problem, Dave. I'll PM you by Sunday with a decent tune, and tips about driving...

Effectively, I just read an article written by Robb Holland, in GRM (Grassroots Motorsports Magazine) which further re-inforces my tuning directions, and advice for FF. It's seriously helpful, when a WTCC/BTCC driver agrees...

Anyways, yes, you'll notice that your entire driving style has to be different. That'll be a PM in itself.

yeah, honestly in any game that requires me to use an FF I struggle, its not like you can man handle a time out of it like the Impreza or XR8, or any FR or AWD car in the game or in real life,

for me personally, the setups between real life and the game are miles apart, like the Ferrari F1, the setup i would use for spa in a formula car is so much different to what I have as my game setup, and man handling a 1.31 out of it is a bit far fetched lol, and with my FGT I have kept my actual F3 setup on it for road courses, hence why i haven't blown out the water on the spa TT, I was hoping this new drag system would make things more realistic, specially in a straight line, that's what I liked about the studio liverpool F1 games, the lower the aero, the better the straight line speed,
