Using iPhone app (nice work). Can't seem to prevent email updates when subscribed threads get new posts. I have the icon badge so I don't need a ton of emails. I checked from my desktop and my options are "no emails"
What am I doing wrong?

Posting in the wrong forum, mainly.

Can you direct me? You took the time to post but weren't helpful. I have a legitimate technical question. The question makes sense if you are involved in maintaining the iPhone gtplanet app. The title isn't clear I admit but I am not allowed to edit it.

I'm using the iPad app, you will have to go onto the main site on a desktop or visit the desktop version of the forums on your iDevice and change your notification settings in "My GTPlanet." If you want to do any significant editing in the forums, change any profile settings, or upload photos to a post you will need to do it on the desktop version of the site (the upload function of photos is currently broken, at least on the iPad app).

Make sure in the "EDIT OPTIONS" menu that you don't have any email notifications on. If all else fails, change your account email.

I don't see how to move by thread, or I would. It probably would be better if a moderator with the power did exactly this.

Which subforum to use wasn't obvious to me. It certainly isn't off topic for gtplanet as a whole, just GT5. Maybe this type of mispost will inspire creation of a specific subforum. A good idea.

Thank you, Zoology, but I changed the setting you refer to. I'd hate to change my email on file just in case something important comes up. I can just choose not to subscribe to threads at all I suppose.

Thank you.

No problem. Sorry about the losers who think they're too cool for school. This forum is full of trolls with no lives looking to start arguments over stupid little crap.

Good luck with your app.

That could be your problem. I don't subscribe to any threads, because the app is quick enough to navigate anywhere you need to. So it could still just be a bug in the app itself. If it continues then that would have to be where I point my finger.

Instead of subscribing to threads you can just hit the profile button and that takes you directly to threads you have started / posted on. That is what I use as my alternative to subscribing.

Thread moved and title changed.

Personally, I see no need for a sub-forum for app issues but that's ultimately Jordan's call.

If you are having problems with the app, post it in the Feedback section. If it's in the GT5, or any other section for that matter, chances are it won't be addressed as quickly.
