I'm not so sure about that. This will work better if it's members of the "known community" voting. I don't want to be inundated with PM's from newly registered members telling me "KAZ IS THE BEST LULZ11". Same reason I don't think this should be advertised in the GT5 forum!

This year the voting process is like a bunch of sheiks doing a lunch meeting.
 
Personally I just can't think of who to vote for anything (bar the obvious category where I feel my vote will make no difference :lol:).

I was trying to think if I know ANY new members bar my real world friend who has made like, 2 posts.
 
I certainly don't, unfortunately I read posts and by next week it will be gone from my mind.

That said the Darwin Award should go to the entire GT5 section.

I remember way back (2002-2003 maybe?) when I was a noob here they used to do the awards with an in thread nomination (therefore public) and then set up threads with a poll for each category for the top nominees?

Public nominations might get people's wheels turning for ideas first of all, since sometimes I won't think of a person unless I see them mentioned for a category. Also, clicking a few buttons on a poll to vote would result in a much higher turnout. just some food for thought.

I don't think any Darwin award winners have survived until the next GTP Awards.

Wow, all of you guys are premos or mods. Sadly, I haven't been around too much to vote. But I think the Darwin award should have gone to NURBURGRINGKING. He just LOVED his totally believable Nurburgring claims.. too bad he's banned.
EDIT: I'm not sure if that counts as a vote, since he is banned... and the thread is somewhere biting dust.

Two things though, he's Banned - so I don't think he'll actually get the award. And that was last year. I think that you can only do quotes of 2010 (correct me if I'm wrong, however).

I voted, got some brain storm late ideas for who to vote for.
 
The posts of the guy who I was going to nominate for the Darwin Award have mysteriously vanished. However, that does mean that the sub-forum he tried to ruin with his Disney-esque overhyping (the GT4 Tuning Forum) has a lot less rubbish in it.
