A second vote for the Golf GTi!

An everyday car that can transport your family, has room in the boot for pushchairs etc and is still quick enough for most. Relatively inexpensive and classless. Nobody will look down on you because you drive a Golf GTi. Can also be fairly economical if driven carefully.

ASTON MARTIN VIRAGE

Aston+Martin+Virage+04.JPG

490 HP, 186mph, and a stunning 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.

Why do I need to explain? Its simply an Aston Martin, and thats why its the UK's best car!
Great minds think alike! 👍

Anyway, the German nomination... Hmmm... Not a big fan of German cars but...

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG:

Who cares about fuel economy when you have performance, off-road ability and a strange, unexplainable sort of coolness.

Let us begin the third round of nominations...

2012 Fiat 500 Sport (US Spec)

I have to say that I'm fairly convinced that the 500 is a pretty rad little car. Granted, you Europeans have had the car for so long that you don't think twice about them, but here in the US, they're somewhat of a new thing. I've only seen a handful on the roads out here, two 500 Sports, and one 500C Sport. I've been in one, and was surprised by both the lack of room, and yet, the feeling of having room. The build quality seemed fantastic, for an Italian car. Sure, the 100-ish BHP isn't quite enough to get your blood boiling, but as long as it is fun to drive, and otherwise comfortable when it needs to be, then... I'm all for it. As of now, this is the closest I can get to owning an Alfa Romeo, so, I'll take it!

Because, now that it's got a two pot, it's almost a Fiat 500... though it should really be called the Fiat 875...

Because it hews true to the original, has a pretty impressive powerplant (85 hp from 875 cc and a 0-62 time of 11 seconds... most 800cc cars do the deed in just under 20 seconds...), and is buzzing with personality... something in short supply, nowadays...

I'm happy that we both wen't for the 500... I always forget about the Twin Air! I just want to take one for a spin, just to see what it is like. I've heard the engine sounds fantastic, although the lowliest engine I've seen on cylinder counts is the old Geo Metro.

The Pangani Huayra!

I can't think of anything to say about it:grumpy:

Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale.

450HP at 7100RPM
510Nm at 4750RPM
0-60mph in 4,6 s

Okay, what should I say about this car? The beauty of the beautiful GranTurismo and a craploaad of performance. I like!

I'm on my phone so I can't upload a picture but I'd also like to nominate the Fiat 500, but the Abarth Fiat 500, very quick little car!

I'd suggest a Masser too (modern Ferrari's are just too bling for my taste).. but for me it would be the Grancabrio.. one of the classiest cars on the road today.

Hmm, not sure if this will count, but I'm not into the whole Italian Supercar Scene.

2011 LANCIA STRATOS

2011-Lancia-Stratos-16.jpg

About 15-50 will be made by some rich kid and his dad based off the old Stratos. Made with a completely re-worked Ferrari F430 body, this is one true collectors item, as long as you like the old Lancia Stratos.

The noise! Fast forward to 2:10 to start hearing the good stuff:

I nominate Alfa Romeo 4C, coming to stores in MY2012..

Alfa-Romeo-4C-Concept-04.jpg

Specs: 200bhp 1.7 turbocharged engine, coupled with 6-speed DCT transmission. Weights 850kg and should achieve top speed of 155mph and 0-60 under 5 seconds.

Why: Mid-engined featherlight Alfa Romeo that isn't derived from a Fiat. That alone is a winning formula.

I'm gonna have to back...all of the nominations really. They're just all great. The 500 is lovely and relaxing, the 458 is obviously a beast, the Huaeaeeayra is just wonderful, the MC Strad looks great and goes like stink, the Stratos is simply retro in the extreme, the Murc sounds and looks great, and the Alfa also looks brilliant and should be a joy to drive.

I dont think Concept cars or one offs count do they...

Aaaanyway..

Ferrari 599 GTO

ferrari_599_gto.jpg

Its very fast, and very good looking... it bears the GTO name, fairly epic car... the fastest ever road legal Ferrari?

I suport the 500 TwinAir.

One of the best ( relatively simple ) engine technologies to come out in the last years, which was developed by a manufacturer reckoned to be awesome at building unreliable engines. That adds very much to the thrill of owning a everyday hatch, I suppose.

The noise is great, the looks are 500'ish :p which is adorable and it's affordable.

I would gladly nominate the Panda, which is a proper small car that I wish we had around here, but it lacks the fancy packaging and emotional appeal of the Cinquecento.

Unfortunately, we all know the little Fiat will likely get outvoted by something with about six or seven times the horsepower... but we can all dream...

Its amazing how just slight body modifications, aero parts, rims and roof can make such a difference on that car, not a big fan of the way the 599 gtb fiorano looks - but the GTO  my goodness its beautiful.

Yup... it's an XF... the XJ looks like a Rolls Royce Vanquish with funky rear pillars... as above.

Sorry... didn't have original pics available from my last drive with the XF... maybe I should e-mail a friend about the ones he took at the track...

No space for the baby stroller.
Pretty sure the Fiat 500 is the only reasonably practical and accessible car coming from Italy right now. They have a penchant for creating ridiculous things that nobody can afford or afford to fix.

GTP Best Car IV: Italy
SVX's Nomination: Alfa Romeo MiTo

gambar_mobil_alfa_romeo_mito.jpg

# Max power: 153 bhp at 5500 rpm
# Max torque: 170 ft at 3000 rpm

0-60mph: 7.7 secs
Price: £15,495GBP

Specs from *

*Specs in question are from a 2009(?) Alfa Romeo Mito 1.4 155 T-Jet Veloce

Hmm, the person's post who said one-off's and concepts don't count had his post dissapear before my eyes. That was quite creepy actually as I was going to quote him. I think life hates me.

Anyway I did further research on my beloved Stratos, and it turns out about 15-50 will be made! And since it actually drives, its not a concept! I think.

My nomination: Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S.

Why? Insane amounts of character, style and presence. The 4.7L Ferrari V8's noise is to die for, and although it can be confusing to operate it is moderately practical as well.
