GTP Colors wrong

Hey,

All the brown colors on GTP have gone blue on My screen, I need help getting them back.

My specs:

COMPAQ Evo N1015v
1.19 GHZ AMD Athalon XP 1400+ processor With 240 MB of RAM,
16MB Video card,
Need anymore let me know.

Also, the icons on my Desktop are Light blue where they need to be transparent.

*EDIT* the icons are whatever color you set the color for the desktop as (Under the pics)

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Hmm... I see nothing wrong with the first screenshot, so it could be your monitor.

Are you refering to the text under the icon as the 'transparent parts of the icon?'

It was fine, then i changed some settings, But I don't know what I changed to make it look like that.

No, the green part used to be clear

You must have changed some color settings on your monitor. Just adjust the settings again.

For your icons, try enabling transparency and drop shadows again:

Go to: Control Panel

Click Performance and Maintenance

Click System

On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Performance

Enable Use drop shadows for icon labels
 
Jiggle the plug where your monitor hooks into the video card. Sometimes my screen goes very, very blue, but jiggling the plug fixes it. It's probably not the problem, but if it isn't, you've only wasted 5 seconds :).

Still no effect, it was on before

I, too, see nothing wrong with the screenshots (other than the lack of transparency on the icons). It is most definitely something wrong with your video settings, and not a browser/GTP problem.

I had the same problem with a crappy monitor I used to have, but it was where the cord went into the monitor itself. At least you got blue. I had to deal with random bouts of pink. :indiff:

(actually, blue is twice as bad as pink because both of your red and green signals are cutting out, whereas pink is just a lack of green)

No, it was enabled before, and I disabled it, nothing happend.

the only colors that change is the brown in GTP, nowhere else

I didn't explain it in the first post, Ben is in a MSN convo with me, I told him. :P

I actually knew from a post, saying your specs. Anyway let's hope it get's sorted eh?

BTW I'm making this post in Opera, as I wanted to see what it was like.
I think I prefer FF, but this is good.
 
We have got the desktop fixed, just had to right-click on desktop----->Arrange icons by----->uncheck: Lock web items to desktop

still can't see the browns in GTP though :(

If all else fails, bang on the monitor a bit. Honestly, that's what seems to do that to laptop monitors most of the time. Either that or magnetic interference.

I would rather send it in to the manufacturer, and they should repair it. Unless I didn't have a warranty.

There goes your idea out the window.

I'm not suggesting you beat the living crap out of it. Just a few firm taps on the side or back could fix it. Trust me, it's happened to me before.

Nope no effect, I guess i'll have to live with it, found out that my Video card is an ATI, that's all i know about it :P

Are there any magnetic influences in the area? That'll definitely screw up your monitor.

If not, I suggest taking it to a professional. Taking apart laptops can be risky business, considering the delicate order of the parts.

The colours go wrong a lot with colour LCD screens, eg mp3 players, i-pods, laptops

off topic: i can't beleive that i'm really good with computers:sly: and i only touched a laptop at school the other day for the first time

It may be a bit of an odd suggestion, but take it outside, or as far away from any possible magnetic influences you can.

If you've ever been bored enough to run a magnet across a monitor or TV*, you'll know why it's important to get away from them.

(*= I don't suggest you do this just to see what happens.)
 
Well i think it is my screen, it shows up fine on my TV (has an S-Video port)

is that with those flat LCD monitors like mine?
 
Any.

Basically, running a magnet across a TV or computer screen causes all of the projected colors to gather into that one area.

I broke an old monitor doing that once :lol:.
