I have been kicking around this idea for a lil bit and discussed it with a couple members. I hadn't planned on trying to start things off so soon, but long story short is my trip has been delayed indefinitely.

Anyways my/our project would be to make a video that included a good amount of the forum members. It's always fun to see something great, but it is so much more rewarding to be a part of making something great. I would like to call it something along the lines of UnitedxUniqueness. The main focus of this project would be geared toward the combination and collaboration of personal skills. Not just driving skill but creativity, musical, and artistic with an influenece on being unique. I want everyone to be able to share the spotlight, whether it be a smooth drift, a fast drift, a show drift, drifting on a crazy turn/course, a big link, taking a funky car out, using whacky settings, spinning, wrecking, playing in traffic, whatever fun stuff ya can do. Then it would also be nice if we could get original music to go with the vids. I'm sure photos/photoshops could even be incorporated too. It would also be cool to have different people edit the same given material to get a variety of presentation. To prevent overexposure we could limit the amount of clips submitted to 3 or so. Of course there is no gauruntee that submissions will be used, but there are no gauruntees in life. I'm aware that not everyone has a capture card, I could take replays and capture them if you have a way of uploading the files. Then once the clips are all uploaded and organized, anyone who wants to edit them into a video would be free to download and go to town with them. I think the first one could be a sort of free for all using yousendit and rapidshare. If the results are suitable I will purchase webspace for upload/download for another project with a possible theme such as old school, or american, or something. I think a lot could come of this. Let me know what y'alls thinks.

Maybe you guys could do some stunt driving? Like say doing two J turns one being right behind each other with Drifting but a little segment of stunt driving? It could be something fresh and different. It would take some practice though and would have to think of stunts.

By no means am I saying go out of your way to do something strange, just do something that you're good at or something that seems fun/challenging.

Well it could be something new and different other then just racing and drifting. But it would take time and practice and I don't have Xlink.

I think you're getting the wrong idea. Pretty much ANYTHING goes, 1 player, 2 player, online, whatever can be contributed. Doesn't necessarily have to be hard or well practiced. Cool stuff happens on accident all the time. Whatever is shown is basically up to the editors.

damn, i wont have my comp back until the beginning of june which is when i will also have my pinnacle capture card. i have like 3/4 of a memory card full of just drifting replays  anywho, if its done by then which hopefully it wont be, i can do photoshop additions, stuff with music or whatever just to give a hand.

Let's do this.

Really, this is a good idea TRi, we should definatly do this. I'm willing to volunteer for small editing bits (all hail TRi with his Adobe Premeir Sillzzz, I use Vegas 6).

Yeah, I'll host when it's ready,

Good idea. If you talk with Jordan surely you can add a GTP logo or something.

We need to start making decisions in terms of how many clips will be uploaded by each member, what car, section...... and so on.

Swift? Where are you? :p

Awesome idea. Almost like a video year book of the members who drift, showing their signature car and technique, kinda thing.
With some good editing, and member contributions, I think we could pull off a pretty decent video here. 👍

Good, and cool idea, pretty much what I proposed in the FBI thread too:D

Only I don't understand the solution you have for the ones that don't have cap cards...........don't get it:irked:

I'd sure as hell be up for it. I've got a fair amount of interesting (Imo) footage saved as replays, as I don't have a capture card as of yet. This is a great idea, a really nice way to show off the skills of everyone on the forum. Can't wait. :)

Glad to see the positive attitudes. Just need to clarify a few things.

For this first videos, I think it should just be a free-for-all, do whatever you like and whatever you enjoy. I do stress that creativity will yield better chances or airplay, but it still will be a mix of everything. It would be cool to get the game from a IRL perspective as well.

There will not be just one video for the first project. Anyone who wants to make the submitted vids into their compilation is welcome. We'll all be working with the same material, but the results will be completely different.

By no means am I saying you should go out and do something you wouldn't normally do, unless you really want to. Creativity is a factor, but make sure you be yourself and bring what you got to the table.

As far as capturing goes, for those that do not have a cap card, it is possible to use a digital video camera and firewire inputs to get videos onto your computer. Also for those that have sharkport or codebreaker, or something along those lines, I can take those uploaded replay saves and capture them.

I want to try and keep it as negative free as possible. I know some people will be sore if what the have is not shown, but if ya felt good about it still feel good about it. If ya want to impress people, learn from it and make the next submission impressive. The main goal of this project is evolving our individualness while supporting all involved.

The magic number that pops in my head for video submissions is 3 clips with time totalling no more than 60 seconds combined. The reason for this is so nobody really has the chance to hog the spotlight, but can still give a bit of variety. The 60 second rule because someone could consider a whole lap a clip while others might think of it as just one turn. 1-3 clips is not asking for a whole lot either.

If anymore calrification needs made, just ask. Also bring any suggestions you may have. This isn't my video, it's everyones.

I'm in but the problem is my Digicam is a crappy 3.2 megapixels is it ok? if it's ok i'm in then... 👍 This will be a fun thing to do...
