Wait, that is a 1950's Ford? Looks so European, and classy! Are we sure that is not an actual Facel car?

You know the drill, this car is incredibly elegant for an American car (not an insult to American cars, it's related to the uniqueness of the design). And the rest is not half bad either.

Cool. Very cool.

Very cool Ford. Pull up anywhere in it and people say you have class, and that is very cool!

There's one thing though that I don't how to rate, but it looks like a Ferrari 250, which means, although older, this is kinda a poor man's 250...

Forgeting that bit, this is extremely cool bordering sub-zero.

Definitely was a popular style for European sports cars in the 50's. Maserati, Talbot-Lago, and AC came to mind.

Almost nobody would list it if they were asked to name a classic Ford. And I doubt that many who do know about Facel would mention it either. It's as understated as it is classy.

Sub Zero.

There may be hints of Comete in the 250 Europa's design more than any other 250. But it's true that the design language wasn't uncommon during that period, especially when it came to coach-builders like Pininfarina and Vignale.

I think the Ford looks proportionally well balanced in comparison to the Europa though. Plus being older doesn't really make it a "poor man's" anything. No matter what you're comparing.

I have absolutely no idea what this is, but I'll give it a cool.

And a 2.2L V8? That's tiny, my Neon has a 2.4L I4 in it. Stuff like this always amazes me for some reason.

We had a customer who had one of these with the 2.4 as a road rally car. The guy spent something like 50k on the engine, to make it a rev happy engine. The result was a red line of 9800rpm. The thing sounded like madness.

As amazing as that sounds, my ignorance makes me ask: HOW THE 🤬 DO YOU SPEND 50k ON AN ENGINE?
