It has a manual. It's the OP that's wrong.

It's a British sportscar for peepz sake!
If that's true, then I apologize as I never saw that as an option. From what I saw there was only the auto :/

Zoom in on the stick!

I know XK140's could be had with manual transmissions, I'm not arguing that. But it does seem that the car in the photo only has two foot pedals. I guess it's probably the angle the photo was taken at hiding the third pedal?

Never been much of a fan of the XK1__ series Jags. For a two seater from that era they're huge and a little ungainly in its proportions. The Mk1's and 2's and S-type that share that style of Jag front end, wear it much better. Meh.

Unless a transmission is likely to gain sentience, burst forth from within the car, and attack passers-by, I don't see how the number of gears has any affect on coolness. Extreme examples, where the transmission ruins any chance of decent progress (the ForTwo's awful, jerky shifter - though that car is painfully uncool anyway) are one thing, but a half-century old car shouldn't be held to modern standards. Nor could I imagine a pretty lady being picked up in one, only to scoff at the comparative lack of ratios. In fact, the only people I can imagine making a big deal about it are the manuals-on-everything-always, brown-diesel-wagon-driving Jalopnik contingent.

To be honest.

The Borg- Warner 3 speed was a leaking piece of garbage. But then again, the XK is also a leaking hunk of metal. Not garbage though.

If a Jag doesn't leak it's a dead Jag.
