The 911 before it became a twitchy, over-rated widowmaker, and long before it became a ridiculously grippy, ridiculously expensive toy for rich footballers and lawyers.

Furthermore, it's a Beetle with an H6*. :D

Frosty.

Okay, maybe not, but wottahell...

The sports car that became the benchmark for all other sports cars that followed. However, these lower down models look a bit plain and boring compared to editions like the 2.7 Carrera RS.

Meh.

Ok, so I don't like the excessive praise modern 911's have gotten over the past few years. I don't like how so many praise it as the ultimate sports car and will almost suffocate those who dare to disagree. I don't like the excessive hype for minor restylings that change very little.

But the OG 911... The one that started it all... It's hard to call this uncool. It's elegant (despite being a bit of a Bettle), it's well-honed, it's just the right sports car it can be. Just make sure to avoid those with those horrendous rubber things at the front, those are design-ruiners. A well-kept 1st gen 911 can be a great companion for a very long time. I like it, but I'll reserve the fridge for things such as the Carrera RS.

Honestly never been a fan of the pre-930 911s. The detailing is too fussy and the overall body shape looks kind of bathtub-esque without the fender flares or chin spoilers.

I seemed to have warmed to Porsches in recent years. I used to feel pretty indifferent about them, but certain ones (this included) I find very lovely indeed.

Sub Zero.

The 911. I saw one in olive green once. I imagined a guy with a tailored suit and some nice sun glasses getting out of one of these.

Sub-Zero.

It's an already cool car without all the complicated, laggy, widebody, ducktailed additions added to it over the years.

Sub-Zero.

I love how light, delicate and elegant that looks compared to later 911s, and especially compared to modern cars.

I am not a 911 fan. Yes yes, the car may be good, but I simply can't see the attraction. Uncool

A great car made back when you could buy a Porsche for rallying, but at the end of the day you'll still be the guy with a Porsche 911.

Edit: Quick search for rally Porsches.
