I've seen a lot of these cars on websites where they've been lowerd to unbelievably low hieghts, and a long with how it looks, while it's not terribly fast, I think this is a cool little car.

Cool.

The best Datsun, period! Still used in club rally racing around the world, the parts are coming a bit thin though. Used for all sorts of retro-tech conversions (SR20DET, CA18DET, FJ20DET), and can go like absolute stink.

Sub-🤬-Zero!! I'd put it next to the Kelvin box if I had my way. 👍

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't these raced rather successfully in Trans-Am in the '70s?

yes they were. Any car that participated in Trans Am gets a sub zero from me RIGHT NOW.

Cool. Absolutely horrid looking from the get-go, and it attracts as many ricers as the 240Z and the AE86. Nonetheless, it's awesomeness is enough to counteract the idiocy of the owners, and it still gets a cool.

I love old Japanese cars enough that I've caught myself calling them "nostalgics" in conversations with friends, so of course I voted cool. It's a cool car but it's not quite as cool as something like a 1st gen Celica coupe.

This car is cool, it oozes cool. I'm a sucker for old cars over these new rounded things.

I'd rather have that over the car I'm sharing just now... the dreaded C1, however I'd have anything instead of that...

This car needs to go in the kelvinator refrigerator. Subzero isn't high enough on the scale.

I'd love to have time, money and space to restore one, but with a bigger engine that isnt an SR20.

That's cool Time Attack. 👍 I love a triple weber'd L28 myself, but I'd leave them for the Z cars....a 510 needs retro-tech action in my opinion after being burdened with the L16.

Not to mention the few already SR'd or FJ'd 1600's I've been in or seen in my day, makes anything with an L series seem prehistoric. :D

Cool

Too many ricers stick mosquito-fart mufflers on them. (irrelevant in my vote)

I hope I get the chance to drive one of these on a track

I actually was the one who requested this car... I put it as just cool though. A couple of months ago I woulda put it as sub zero, just because I own one (actually my family owns 2, a wagon and a sedan), but I am starting to lose interest in it...

Sub-zero. No need to even think about it.

Not quite as popular with tuners as the AE86... not quite as pretty as a 240Z, which means it's not a shame to chop it up for modification... which means that it's one of those classics that people still use every day and tear up on racetracks every now and then.

Bring a 510 to a 24-hour of Lemons race or even an ordinary trackday and everyone goggles. That's what it does to guys with petrol in their blood. This is the Japanese version of the Ford Escort. An unassuming little car that can do it all.

Should be in the icebox, but not everyone will see it that way, which is perfectly fine by me... the "Dime" is an acquired taste.

SubZero.

For all the reasons he ^^ listed and more.

I love vintage iron, especially from the 60s and early 70s. This is one of the holy trinity of my favourite cars of that era, together with the BMW 2002 and the Alfa 1750/ 2000 GTV.

+1 I'm glad that these aren't molested in numbers by the "tuner" crowd like the AE86 and other such vintage vehicles. I guess maybe because they are rare enough that they cannot get their hands on them as often.

Plus, its just one of those cars that just endures time and ages very well. Honestly, this is probably my favorite Japanese car pre-1990. I would take this car stock if I could, and that's saying a lot.

The 2002 also holds a soft spot in my heart. Truly a great BMW. I like it better than the 3-series that replaced it. But that is for another topic. :D

S-Z. I've loved the 510 for ages, I can not think of a cooler car out there and I can't explain why.

The 510 was the answer to this.

BMW 2002 tii which I think is a very cool car too.

Note: Is it me or are orange cars cool? :dopey:

Seriously uncool.

Never dug old japanese cars. This one is no difference.

It's "never dug", "digged" isn't even a word :P.

I think the 510 is different than a lot of classic Japanese cars though because it ended up becoming sort of an icon in a round about way.
