Except that you could only pay the turn-key price for one of these.

For one of the 118 production models, yes. As I stated earlier this started out as a kit (the Mark VIII) which you could purchase for $2800. But you needed to have a spare Falcon GT laying about with a decent drivetrain.

It indeed looks like a kit car, but a very very good one at that. And it's quite cool looking. Cool.

Looks like a generic Italian coupe from the 70's. Meh.

That's exactly the reason why it's cool. Not OVERLY cool because it lacks defining features and a glamorous badge, but to the average on-looker it's definitely cool. It doesn't look like a botch kit-car job and it already has space for a V8 in there which opens the modification floodgates.

Not Sub-Zero, but a solid cool from me.

It's a transition from 60's GTs to the 70's sports cars design wise. It looks like a kit car, but properly done, so points for effort. Looks good, has a nice engine, it's light, a very generic cool car.

Shelby Cobra, Iso Grifo, Jensen Interceptor, and now this? How many vintage European sports cars with classic American V8 engines are there?

Sub-Zero.

Sunbeam Tiger. Almost everything de Tomaso built. Depending on your point of view, anything with an early Rover V8.

Sub-Zero.

The only thing truly European about this is that Graeme Bolwell designed it after working for Lotus.
