Mk 1 Escorts are the bomb to hoon around in, and this is arguably the greatest one.

SZ.

Pure, simple fun. Mk1 Escorts prided themselves in that, and the México is no exeception. It made its mark in rallying, and it is also a very competent hot car. Not quite as cool as the RS, but cool nonetheless.

Communicative handling and not very fast but people use to rave over them because they were a cheap, plentiful and easy to tune 'base' rally car.

If you ever get to drive one, you'd wonder what all the fuss was about.

Totally over-rated as a car by the rose-tinted glasses wearers that use to watch rallies in their puffa jackets.

Winners get remembered in history so it gets a 'meh' from me only for the fact that I use to get the chance to joyride my brothers when he went out on a Saturday night when I were but a lad (14).

P.S. The White and blue car is an RS, not a Mexico.

Also the last pic in the OP is from a Mk2, Mk1 had a different dashboard.

EDIT:something along these lines.

Not criticising as such, just saying:sly::)

It's a small '70s FR rally car, but I have to admit it misses out on SZ because of the name.

Over-rated old Ford compact.

Gets a sub-zero, anyway. Because it's a Mexico.

Awesome, awesome car. Bright stickers and pinstripes saying 'Mexico' on the side is not, however. Uncool.
