Instantly cooler. My vote would have gone up if it came that way stock. 300mm (12") isn't all that high though. My ATV sits solidly at half that. Those tires look to be 33s as well, which aren't bad but aren't really preferred for offroading, at least for me. If it's all shortened underneath, I wonder how big the ring gear is...could be a limiting factor.

You want everything good from stock? That's not hardcore. This is a car for real men! A do-it-yourself base for an off-road monster.
A stock 469 (like any other light military jeep, e.g. M151, Land Rover Series I-III, etc.) is designed as a cheap and simple army vehicle capable of going on any terrain that looks somehow driveable. So off-road capabilities of a stock one are quite limited.
But this thing has a great potential for customising. And when it's upgraded, it can go where it seems impossible to walk...

An off-road competition in Ukraine (Buymerovka 2011):

Edit - found a funny fact:

UAZ is a device looking like a car that gives you happiness three times:
First - when you just bought it after a 2WD.
Second - in the first winter, when you have pulled out of snowdrifts half of all imports from your neighbourhood.
And third - when you sold it at a price more than a couple of beer costs.

A Soviet go anywhere jeep-like car that's probably tough as nails. Cool.

This thing is seriously cool, almost sub-zero. It goes anywhere, its Soviet, and its so different that you want one for your own winter beater.

Yes. Car lives, organs rearranged.
I am only going to live once. If I die driving a vehicle I love, then so be it.

Plus, in a case like that, the vehicle and you would be fine, and the vehicle easily fixable.

But we've already been over this.

This is what I call "Soviet heavy metal". :D
Daewoo Lanos vs. 1980's GAZ 24-10 Volga.
