I skim read the rest of the article linked above which confirmed there were two road cars produced, the first had the 450hp flat 12 and the second had a 585hp V10 sourced from Judd.

Anyway, nice idea and clearly a lot of work went into it but seems it ended up the same way of a lot of other similar-looking supercars of that era. Joins the ranks of hens-teeth-rare/one-off Japanese supercars along with the OX-99, R390GT1 and the ZZII.

The fact that there are just two and they are both different (I would be OK with there having been just one, or at least two the same) marks it down for me, and the looks/styling aren't enough to drag it up from a high Meh.

I wonder if Minardi ever expected somebody outside of motorsport would've been willing to utilise the barely-running-on-all-cylinders-by-1990 "Subaru" flat-12 that they ultimately decided not to use in their F1 cars back in the late '80s. Though detuning it probably would have aided reliability.

A V10 production model could very well have been cool if it ended up looking as good as it did in prototype form.

Seriously Uncool. Not because of its Burnout-like styling. Not because of it's "production" numbers. Not because of its crap engine, mis-matched interior, nor gullwing doors.

Nope, this gets an SU for those adorable little side mirrors.

I think it's cool. Then again, anything with wheels and can go vroom vroom is cool to me.

For some reason this makes me think of the Zonda. Only Cool because the interior looks uber cheap.

I only know about this car through Auto Modellista and Sega GT 2002, and while I love both of those games, they can't make this cool no matter how much nostalgia is inspires.

Those side mirrors in additional pic #1 makes it look like it's got its hands in the air like it just doesn't care
I don't really like the rear
The gullwing doors are a cool addition
The performance is alright I guess
It's cool but I just don't agree with some features about it

This could be one of any number of somewhat interchangeable generically aerodynamic bubble top 80s concept cars that happened to be functional test mules for *technology*. Why is this any better than the Corvette Indy or CERV III? Why is it any better than the HSR, HSR-II or HSR-III? The Camaro California IROC? The Banshee IV? PPG M4S? Nazca C2? COA-III? WildCat?

I mean, it's really awesome that IMSA was so enormously popular that it carried such a huge influence, but even Oldsmobile had a few running around.

Vapourware with one of the worst F1 engines this side of the 1990 Life W12 and the 1991 Porsche V12. Funny how they all appeared at roughly the same time.

Seriously Uncool

Maybe I'm in an odd mood today, but the "what the hell is that?!" factor of this thing bumps it up to a cool for me.

I've never thought of mirrors as arms before. Though I tend to like them small.

It's a supercar, so it's nice. I can't say much else because I've never heard of it before. Unfortunate that it never made production.
