Suggestions for events:
I am up for a shorter layout of Autopolis. The length could be fun, especially with the emerging "Lightness Meta" of this round.

Interlagos - We haven't seen it for a while in TTs. Maybe another good place for the featherweights

Trial Mountain - Could be very fun considering the crazy aero that we run

Sainte Croix B - has very nice flow and the laps go by quickly despite the length (Race of Turbo Sports, Schwarzwald League)

Blue Moon Infield A Reverse - Everybody forgets that it exists, but there's good flow and a great mix of corners (GT-R Cup and European Clubman Cup 600)

Collardo Springs - If we do dirt, let's go here. Good length and it's bonkers enough to be entertaining. Bonus: I no idea how to drive or tune for dirt!

Please do not pick Barcelona Rally Cross, because that would make me very, very sad. If we vote to yes or no about going there, I will vote "snow."

On paper, the Avantime has the most aero in the FF class. The Civic FL5 still has the suspension of gods, but maybe the Avantime can make the FL5 sweat a bit. Well, at least on the power tracks 👀
Thank you for sharing your setup! I will give it a try.

Funny that you mention 'Blue Moon Infield A Reverse' as this is exactly the layout I had in mind. So far I will prefer staying on tarmac but otherwise any idea is still welcome.

A little progress report from Catalunya:

I made it into 1:11! 🥳

During the last 2 days i spent quite some time there. Don't know how many laps i've done, a few, at least 😁.
The track limits realy tortured me (looking at you turn 3! 😡). Sometimes i knew it was close, but often it came out of the blue!
But i finaly can take the final corner flat out (sometimes). That was a big part of my progress.

I'll have to post my final result next week, maybe earlier. I have a tiny bit of hope that it will be good enough for the podium in the RWD class this time (unless you guys kept your poker faces on and present low 1:11 laps 😁)

Congrats! That is a strong result! I still try to get closer to 1:12 but I am not your rival for podium here... (By the way awesome lap time in the Honda special-TT!!!)

Thank you so much!
The Honda TT is the kind of TT i could do all day long, a nice track with a fantastic race car!

But i'm enjoying the our Catalunya TT as well. Unfortunatly i only have very limited time atm and 2 TT's on which i see room for improvement.
And a new official TT is already on the horizon.
Oh boy, it's a tough life! 🤪

Same here, Honda at Lago Maggiore is a great combo. Barcelona was different as I was looking for it, then started to hate it and now enjoy the hotlapping there...

Sorry @rheinaoi but I cannot replicate your settings. I use 19' rims wide and no widebody. Aero is B except the rear that is A. Your Gallardo looks heavier than mine despite having the same weight reduction 2. Any other secret? I need 97 Kilogramm (= 213,848 lbs) to become legal again...

If it isn't obvious please don't bother with it. Thanks!

Big OOF on my part :ouch:

No secret. I was getting ready to move on and test a lighter build and forgot to correct the ballast - GT7 somehow forgot along with me. My game may be glitching because I have a lot of tuning sheets across a lot of cars.

Add 99kg of ballast at 0 position to bring the car back to regulation: 1269kg [2798lbs]. No worries about the aero - A or B rear is OK. As long as you can get the posted downforce numbers, all is well.

If it's of any consolation, I did a quick test with the 99kg and got a new overal best of 1:11.672... Optimal in the 1:11.3s and I blew it twice 🫠 Replay going up after I give up for the night / test the Avantime.

You may normalize the request, "Chall, please double check your work."

New attempt yesterday and .... surprise! I'm not to old to not learn from my mistakes 😜
New fastest lap and this time i've pushed the right buttons! 😁

By the way, i'm under 1:11,5 now! 😎

My best optimal is still 2 tenth faster, which keeps me motivated!

I ran the "heavy" Gallardo again with some tweaks to dial it in better...

We're in the 1:10s now 👀

Well, 1:10.994 to be exact :P

Replay is up: #ataq #ataq4wd #rheionaoi

Revisions and Why I did them

Suspension
  • Raised Rear Ride Height: Hoping for sharper turn-in for high speed corners and in general
  • Less Rear Negative Camber: Hoping for more aggressive turn-in, especially in low speed corners

Differential
  • Raised Front Initial Torque - Make the front diff settings more prominent / calm down braking oversteer
  • Raised Front Acceleration Sensitivity - Make the front wheels pull the car around the corner under heavy acceleration - risk of 4WD crab walk
  • Raised Front Acceleration Sensitive Slightly - Reduce oversteer when releasing the brakes
  • Lower Rear Acceleration Sensitivity - Less oversteer on corner exit under heavy acceleration
  • Raised Rear Braking Sensitivity - Hoping for less oversteer / sliding when releasing the brakes

Ballast
- Moved Ballast further to the rear - Hoping for better acceleration out of low speed corners and more rotation in all situations.

The game says that you get better acceleration in general in 4wd and Rwd cars, but the Gallardo needed specific positioning. Any further back, and the game said the Gallardo was slower. I've been lazy to test this though.

Supposedly, you get better braking performance with less weight in the front, but my braking points remained the same.

Gears
Less shifting is better here, so I have been using only five gears.

Lowered Final Drive - 2nd gear was too short for the big hairpin and 5th was too short for the long straight if I got a good run out of the final turn. You need to rev the Gallardo out, but the power cut is close to redline. Longer Final Drive Ratio spaced everything out exactly as I needed.
