Isn't this the very Subaru capable of finishing 24 hour of le mans and on podium nonetheless...or have I got my years mixed up.

I believe Andrew's Le Mans winner was the boring exhilerating Impreza 2.5 RS. With a garbage track ready 4-speed slushbox transmission that's ready to take on any of the Le Mans race cars because it had a good driver.
 
Would be fun to drive one in the winter.

Only the EJ20R versions are cool. Otherwise I think it's uncool. So meh.
 
Only problem is that it's (like most subies) a gas guzzler, but I really like the car

Gas guzzler? For standard AWD, it wasn't that bad imo.

Same here. My '02 Impreza OBS got almost 34mpg on the way to West Virginia to pick up my brother's '85 300D.
 
Always liked these, and twin-turbo wagons almost define the term "sleeper". Against the Stagea, is my car of choice if I win the lotto and get a couple of dogs (actual dogs not other cars). Rightly or wrongly if these nominations include all the models, I choose the one I like best rather than take an average, so a very solid Cool from me.

EDIT: Well it would be if the poll was still open, derp
