I like the Lupo, especially the GTI and the 3L, but I'm not sure any of them are quite cool yet. Any which have fallen into the hands of Dubbers and subsequently become stanced are seriously uncool. Going for uncool on balance.

A very low cool. Saving it from a meh do to it being small and good for city driving.

If it were just the GTI it'd be an easy cool. As is, I'll need to think about it.

Sub Zero only because of the GTi, the true inheritor of Mk1 Golf GTi's genes.

Neat car. Briefly cool when new for being a VW that wasn't utterly miserable. Less cool now for being unnecessarily expensive as a used car thanks to VW scene tax.

It's definitely a cute little hatchback. I'm not sure, but this could be the smallest priduction Volkswagen ever (if it is nit, then it's probably the UP). With the exception of the GTi model the performace figures aren't something to write home about, but this car isn't made for performance, but for city driving.

Meh.

Having never actually experienced one, these always seemed like one of those rare cars where everything about it was thought about. Low cool.

The GTi is very cool. I has following a Lupo the other day and I was thinking on how cool is a Lupo GTi. The others are just so bland, colourful, but not much else. I'll have to go with Uncool unfoutunately.

I wouldn't say the average Lupo was ever as cool back then as the Up! is today. But it does get points for being a million times more appealing than the unworthy successor that was the VW Fox, and for reinvigorating the GTi nameplate after a spell of insipid "sporty" models through the late '90s. Plus they're genuinely easy to like.

The range as a whole fails to punch into or above Meh however. Though an unmolested GTi alone would be an easy cool.

Meh, almost uncool. Still too common to be really seen as anything other than a supermini with a premium badge. Doesn't help that stance crowds are starting to go for these, as Polos and Golfs of a similar vintage are fast becoming too pricey for them. The GTI on its own would be cool; even then, that loses points as they are still ridiculously expensive second hand for no discernible reason.

I love this car because of it's cutesy looks and decent performance. If given the chance, I would totally own one of these. Cool

I voted uncool because it was basically a bit pointless. It was supposed to be a cheaper alternative to the Polo. It was basically a shortened Polo which hardly saved them any money so in the UK it was 500 pounds cheaper than the equivalent Polo. But the Polo came with ABS as standard, the Lupo had it as a 300 pound option. So only a 200 quid saving if you wanted a modern set of brakes.
