If we're talking about the Mazdaspeed, it's cool. If we're talking about other editions, it's uncool. Edges out to a meh.
 
Probably something that makes the Mk. 5 Golf GTI a much more amicable option.
 
Very cramped interior and there's too many of them down here. Not to mention isn't a class leader. Uncool
 
It's meant to be a perfectly useful, normal piece of transportation machine. Something like this is what people think of for a "car." Cooler than a Corolla, but not enough to get into cool. Meh.

Nicer to drive than most compacts, but lacked the engaging communicativity of the car that preceded it, and the overwhelming competence of the car that followed it.

The Mazdaspeed was as much fun as a bucket of monkeys, but overall, meh. Especially considering the global Focus (or as Famine would put it... the "Porkus") that had the same chassis, suspension (they're almost interchangeable with only a bit of adjustment) and engine blocks, was a hell of a lot nicer to drive. Despite being heavier, all around. (Yup. Porkus)

So meh, meh, meh. It looked cool-ish... but meh.
 
The sedan looks nice, saves it from uncool. It gets meh.

Good car. I own one. Nice to drive. Looks fairly good too. But the friggin' name... Mazda Mazda3? Does someone at Mazda have Tourette's or something?

I don't want to, but Uncool.

Meh. They were relatively good cars but not special in any way whatsoever.
 
Really just a Ford Focus in a different suit, with significantly less appeal. Uncool.
 
Mazdaspeed version and I'll probably go with a cool. Otherwise it's just a car. It does what it what desinged for. Meh
 
I think its cool. I like them a lot and am looking for a white low mileage 5 door as a DD.
 
Average inexpensive transportation. Meh.
 
One of the cooler cars in it's segment, but still SU.
 
SP23 brings it out from the Mehness to a low Cool.

Not a fan of boggo Focus' over this though it's tough between XR5 Turbs and 3 MPS. 3 I reckon edges it out for sheer hilarity of power and that weaponised torqueband (80-120km/h in 3-and-a-bit seconds is seriously quick).
 
Seriously uncool, great car but completely uninspiring and dull.
