I voted cool just because the Idea is neat plus if I rolled up to cars and coffee in this thing there would be a crowd around it.

Cool.

It's a badass off-road vehicle that doesn't carry all the social prejudice usually tied to such a thing. It's fast and looks relatively stylish, at least it lacks the macho pretentions most trucks have. Just using the words "OPEN SOURCE" makes it even sweeter for me. Not enough for a Sub Zero though...

I'm sure it's a fun thing to hoon around but I fail to see it doing any type of offroading well. The name suggests it to be suitable to gravel, hardpack dirt, the oversize wheels and ridiculous ground clearance suggest it's meant for maybe going through mudpits or do rockcrawling. Now, with wheels of that size, a 4 speed slushbox, that center of gravity height and that weight no way would I choose this thing for a gravel or dirt road. Rally raids? FR layout says a big nope. Mudding? FR layout says a big nope. Rockcrawling? Nope.

If they made it in such way that it made some sense, it could've been cool. Now it's just a bro-truck without the truck part.

That's a Gen 1... this is a Gen 2...

If it indeed is meant to excel on rough surfaces, it would be better off with IRS.

Not necessarily. IRS sucks for sliding or drifting. That's why you don't see it on sport quads, only utilities. That's pretty much a given. Why do you think people put lockers in trucks? It really depends on what your are doping. a solid axle as more wheel travel than IRS at the expense of comfort.

Saying a solid axle and pushrods suck is stupid. If they were so bad, they wouldn't have put them in cars for, well, all of it's existence. They are a proven technology that works. Why do you think GM still uses pushrod motors in their performance cars? It's not like they don't have the technology to change it if they wanted to...

Just checked the build your own Fighter option in the local motors website. I am so disappointed that you cannot have the whole thing OD green WTH.

Trucks. Meh.

WUT?

Dakar Trucks are BAD-ASS. If you don't believe me, ask Jan De Rooy. If a HUGE 1000HP truck that can go 200 Km/H anywhere is meh, then I'm all for the meh!

Actually, Dakar trucks once were so badass that they were as fast as a 405 T16 driven by Ari Vatanen.

(Forgive me for the lousy music in the video, skip to 1:30 for awesomeness)

It's trying to be a Bowler Wildcat, which leaves just one small problem.

It's not a Bowler Wildcat.

Uncool.

Driving in a straight line on hardpacked dirt over, maybe, some jumps. That's all this thing seems to be good for. Nothing else. "It's just begging to get stuck" seems to be a very fitting quote in this case :sly:

While this video doesn't show anywhere near what the Rally Fighter can do, it is a good video nonetheless.

Want to see why this car is uncool?

That's why. Resemblance is indeed uncanny..
