"Boo technology, boo!"

I'm am seriously getting tired of people poo-pooing hybrid tech.

Yes, hybrids are known for being geared towards economy over performance. But we all know of the Ferrari TheFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, and the next-gen NSX.

And of course The Porsche 911 GT3 R hybrid, the Audi R18 E-tron Quattro, and the Toyota TS030.

Cars like these will be the future whether you like it or not.

Hybrids are automatically uncool.

What was that?

Hybrids aren't automatically uncool...

Also to add to that list you have the La Ferrari and C-X75 which are pretty cool too

I wouldn't say any of the cars which you listed were cool, as gorgeous as the 918 is, on the grounds of being supercars, which aren't actually cool. For a cool hybrid, try this:

With just this post, you have demonstrated you're even blinder than Slashfan and W&N combined. Way to go dude.

I think he's using exaggeration and sarcasm to ridicule Slashfan's narrow way of thinking...

I think he was joking.

Bazinga? W&N got the point for once. Come on guys, even he got that Roger the Horse was stating the antithesis of what Slashfan is saying.

Cool car, with it leading Alfa's charge back to the US. Lightweight, good looking, Italian sports car, but not a Ferrari. Misses out on sub zero because of what they did to the headlights.

How about you keep that and we'll stick with what we think is cool, thanks.

Uncool. Ugly as sin to me, but would probably turn some heads.

Then when you tell them it has an I4 they laugh and walk away. No thanks.

Your point is invalid because:
1970-1975 Alpine A110 1600S
1959-2000 Mini Cooper
1961-1973 Volvo P1800
1996-2001 Lotus Elise
1976-1984 VW Golf GTI
1988-1995 Volvo 480 Turbo
2008 Ariel Atom 3

All with I4 engines.

Imprezas don't have an i4. They have a Boxer 4 - two banks of two cylinders, horizontally opposed with individual crankpins.
My mistake. I knew it was a 4 banger but was unsure of the configuration. Thanks for that.
The "more, by default, is better" is really an unfortunate mindset. Slashfan, you seem to celebrate this particular ideal, and I would encourage you to seek broader horizons. I'm not sure if you are aware, nor care, but you have represented yourself as extremely insular. This is very much a global community and you are selling yourself short by perpetuating your own stereotype. You leave the impression that anything and everything outside of your own experience has no value or is not worth even exploring. Every time you say "people around here think" or something similar, it reinforces not only your insular nature, but your lack of personal/individual subjectivity. I'm saying this because you tend to derail many threads with your 'around here people think this' banter. We're all from somewhere, you're not special in that regard. This might sound rude, but honestly, nobody cares what people in your area think because it is an entirely exclusive reference. I'm not trying to be insulting, but your V8 this, V8 that in every thread has become too awful.
None taken. Even I know it. :/

All with I4 engines.

The only one that sparks some interest is the Alpine and Elise.

And then, you'll turn around and do it again, probably.

Oh you can, but saying "V8 all the things!" gets pretty old after a while.

Sorry, I can't help it.

 The Atom doesn't spark some interest?

Would it help if I add it can do 9s quarters, stock?

It's quick, but it still doesn't appeal to me all that much. Meh.

Yes. You are allowed an opinion. And we're allowed an opinion on your opinion. As are you allowed an opinion on our opinions.

Opinions!

I'm from Detroit, and even I don't want to V8 all the things
I don't even particularly like V8s. They're too common. FLAT 10 foreverrrrrr!!!!!11!!1!!

I know. I don't see where there is an issue...I wasn't even trying to start anything, you all are jumping down my throat. If it bother you all that much let it go.

I don't know what is getting older - the V8 all things mindset or the bashing of it...

Weeeh it is a hybrid so you can't call it a sports sedan.

No... it is an automatic, so I can't call it a sports sedan. But Lexus does.

Endlessly fascinating. A sports sedan with a planetary gearbox. Ergo. No gears. Does a nice bit of tire-squealing, neck-snapping and corner carving.

Of course, automatically seriously uncool because it's a Lexus.

Not decided about the Alfa yet. Too new. Too unknown.
