Additional Info: "The Alfa Romeo Disco Volante by Touring is a two-seater coupé with front-central engine and transaxle drivetrain. Showcased at 2012 Geneva Motor Show as a full scale style model, now is coach built in the Touring atelier in Milan as a very limited series for discerning customers: collectors, sporting drivers and design aficionados with appreciation for a tailor-made car based on individual passion and taste. It is inspired by the Touring designed Alfa Romeo C52 of 1952: a design icon, so innovative that it influenced a number of celebrated sports cars of the decades ahead.

The excellent Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione supplies the rolling chassis and drivetrain with the electrics and electronics systems. With its light and stiff structure, the compact 4.7 litre, 450 PS V8 engine coupled to a sequential paddle-shift transaxle gearbox, the limited slip differential and double wishbones suspension, the package provides stunning performance together with precise, dynamic and proactive drive.

The design language is that of a sports berlinetta by Touring, in this case extrovert, clearly pronounced, and tempting. The refined proportions are those of a classic Berlinetta by Touring, with extended rear overhang and a retracted greenhouse. Elements of drama are the wide front section with integrated bonnet and wings, and the pronounced muscular rear end treatment leaving no doubts about the car’s intentions.

The final result combines power and elegance in a car bound to set another Touring milestone in the automobile history."

Beautiful. But, they do actually build the car for customers. Not sure if it technically counts as a concept, despite the first kind of being one.

Meh. I don't really like the styling. The 8C looks better.

Regarding the weight and transmission, it probably uses the same automated manual as the 8C and probably weighs similar.

Could it be considered a coachbuild perhaps?

A hundred 8Cs could go down the street but nobody would bat an eyelid if this was parked on the other side. Coachbuilt cars are cool.

It's worth noting that only the first car was actually a concept - Touring Superleggera will build production cars (like the green one pictured) for those that want them.

Edit: Tree'd by @Downhill Dino

Somehow Touring managed to make the already ugly looking 8C look even worse.

Uncool.

I'd argue that the 8C is a prettier machine. But a production DV would certainly be a more successful head-turner. Not for the wrong reasons at least.

Low Cool.

Concept car. Seriously un... oooooh... so, so pretty!

Sub Zero.

I've loved this thing since it came out. And I think the fact that it's in production... albeit limited to a handful of really rich sheiks who will park them in humidity controlled air-conditioned garages... sort of validates that.

Also, best use of 599 headlights. Ever.

Just like the new Guilia, the rear and side-profile are gorgeous but the front is appalling. The dark green paint evidences, however, that the front would likely be fine with a dark exterior colour (like the AM V12 with the tacky black hood vents).

Cool--a switch of the rear wheel arches for the front necessary for SZ. :P

(Edit: Added 'of.')

Fangio's version; ultra sub-zero.

This? A terrible recreation with the body on backwards. And not actually a car. Meh.
