I love it, but as said many times, it looks tacky (says the one with a car that has a big wing and airscoop as his avatar) and you'd look like an idiot to most people if you drove it on the road (it is still a roadcar so people will drive them on the road), because of these reasons I voted uncool.
Chintzy bodykit on a supercar.
People who flock to supercars aren't what I'd call cool, a fair amount of the people who flock to supercars probably don't even know what it is they just think "oooh fancy supercar lets take some pics", that isn't what I'd think of as cool, even the people who know what they're talking about when it comes to cars aren't deemed as cool, so if an uncool person is doing something I'd personally class as uncool is uncool in my opinion.I still don't know who these people are. 99.9999999% of the time there is a supercar on the road, people flock to it with praise and iPhone cameras. At least in my experience. The people who look down on cars tend to be [semi]car people, who are supposedly (?) uncool which makes their opinions uncool (?).
Heck, the last time I saw a Ferrari F40 trying to get over a speed bump in front of luxury hotel with all the grace of a hippo with broken legs wading through a pool of mud, there were still a couple of guys practically standing on it trying to get photos. Sometimes I think I live a parallel universe with regards to popular conceptions of car, but I'm fine with that because based on what I hear I live in the good universe.
Also, what is idiotic about driving a car on the road? How else will you get to the race track if you don't live there?
Wouldn't this leave you with nothing being cool? People who don't know aren't cool, people who do know aren't cool, what's left?People who flock to supercars aren't what I'd call cool, a fair amount of the people who flock to supercars probably don't even know what it is they just think "oooh fancy supercar lets take some pics", that isn't what I'd think of as cool, even the people who know what they're talking about when it comes to cars aren't deemed as cool, so if an uncool person is doing something I'd personally class as uncool is uncool in my opinion.
Well the point was, you kind of have to drive it on the road even if you only bought it for track use. There are two alternatives; packing it in a trailer (even worse for tight streets) or living at the race track. People might not think of it this way, but a racecar on the road is very similar to a minivan on the road. It's just trying to get from point A to B.There is nothing uncool about driving a car on the road, it's the some peoples perceptions when it comes to flash cars, they may like the car but they still might think you're uncool driving a track car on the road and in my opinion you're definitely uncool if you drive a supercar through narrow streets of places like London and Paris.
Tbh with the way I explained it you're probably right with nothing being coolWouldn't this leave you with nothing being cool? People who don't know aren't cool, people who do know aren't cool, what's left?

They're aggressive and venomous. It's a Viper for crying out loud, what's not to like?
Which allows the car to take the corners at a higher speed, which translates to faster lap times. So I'd say it would be perfectly correct to say downforce makes the car faster, just not faster in a straight line.
I think it's one of the most awesome things of all time. As awesome as making Viper GTS Blue an exclusive color was one of the worst things of all time. If everyone did this, it would save someone buying a nice car the need to immediately repaint it because all the colors are terrible. I happen to run into this more often than I'd like looking through color palettes. I also can't stand when options seem arbitrarily separated from each other, like a certain interior/exterior paint combination, or certain wheels combined with whatever trim level. The tackiness weighs down the "1 of 1 program" Dodge is placing on this car. Meh.
Vipers are cool for being an old school sports car in a post-millennial world full of gadgets and cars that share more of a resemblance to a supercomputer than a hunk of engineering. The - while overdramatic - Viper is a great car and while some may like the styling, others not; is for me a cool car.
I put it at sub zero.
Of course. Nothing is outdated on it but things like a naturally aspirated engine larger than a V8 and a standard 6 speed manual set it apart.I think that might be true of the 1st gen Viper and slightly less so with the 2nd gen, but with the 3rd gen I feel like Dodge (or SRT or whatever they call it) finally succumbed to making it more modern and techy. It's still far less technologically advanced then say a Ferrari, but I don't think it's the brute it once was.
Just "faster" pretty much does mean faster in a straight line, that was my point. "Faster in corners" or "Faster lap times" is correct, but that's not what was implied.
It takes about 10 years for any typical Viper generation to be cool.
Oh this one hurts.
Completely bat-🤬 insane, looks fantastic, sounds even better, a million times more appealing than the Corvette (to me) and still completely impractical in the most charming way possible.
Sigh.
Uncool.
