I feel like this would've been an interesting car if it weren't for the fact that they have actually sell these.

There's so many reasons why this is Seriously Uncool.

Not a real off roader
Overpriced
Not 4WD
Not enough horsepower
Ugly exterior
Makes real off roaders look bad.
Gimmicky
2010s Beetles aren't cool to begin with.

The list goes on.
 
A VW repair shop in the town I work in has a early '00s New Beetle on display modded similar to these. I always thought it looked so stupid, then VW goes and builds it for real... SU
 
Why bring back a car with off-road roots without having any of the "off"?

Uncool. Just as stupid as Audi's allroad line up, only without the 4WD so it's even more redundant.
 
I hate any car a manufacturer makes that is just an insulting rehash of an old classic that pays no real homage to the classic.

The newer beetles are Front engine Front wheel drive, a pain to work on.
Unlike the old classic Rear Engine, Rear wheel drive and the whole design make servicing easy.

The new Fiat 500.
Do they know why it was called 500?

BMW mini.
Oh yeah nearly bigger than a honda fit and it is "mini", adding SRS airbag, and all these other things does not mean a car has to be huge and heavy.

None of which you need to actually off road...go figure. As for the car overall I give it SU
 
It has a horrid colour and doesn't reflect sand dunes in any way. Looks alright but I'd expect a car with the name "Dune" to actually go over them. Uncool
