I'm say cool, since...

a: has the mystique that we don't get it here
b: They made a 300HP front-driver that didn't torque steer...or weigh two tons...or rely on a 5.3 litre V8. ((I'm looking at YOU, Impala SS!))
c: AWD and Group N cred would have pushed this to Sub-Zero...even though BTCC cred works well enough.

Sub-zero. It's bright green, it has way to much horsepower, and when anyone asks you how it's so fast despite being FWD, you can just reply witchcraft. I also happen to think the design is really good in a modern, funky, European sort of a way.

We don't get them state side so there is no owner stigma attached to them for me because I just just don't know who would own one. If they were sold here I've guess they'd be expensive and rare.

I'm quite glad Ford Europe still have the guts to make stuff like this and I will have to vote cool simply due to the same reasons I find the Sierra Cosworth and Escort Cosworth cool.

I can overlook the boy racer/ricer side and the rediculous styling. As a car, its an awesome car.
I don't think the Escort looks particularly handsome either, but didn't stop it being Sub Zero.

I said meh. There are cars that are faster in this area than it, like Mitusbishi's Lancer Evo, Subaru Impreza WRX, VW GTi, Mazda RX-8, MazdaSpeed3. It's not ne of my favorite cars, it seems like the chassis guys had it wrong with a 300hp FWD layout, even if it wasn't all that killing. It's performance is not grand, all though I heard the top speed is not to be laughed at, and that look is fanboy-ish. We also never got it in the States; it's cool, but it doesn't have me interested. I'll go with the GTi, thank you very much.

The Mazdaspeed3, VW GTi, Subaru Impreza WRX and Mazda RX8 are not faster than the Focus RS. Most of them are much slower around a racetrack. An RX8 with the new suspension kit probably comes close. A GTi? Not in a million years.

The Evo X (depending on the track) is slightly faster or slightly slower.

They will snap 0-60 slightly quicker though, at least Motor Trend thinks so:

Motor Trend
Ah, but this new GTI is worth hollering about. Although it employs virtually the same drivetrain as the last-generation GTI -- meaning a 2.0-liter four-cylinder spinning-out 200, direct-injected, turbocharged, and intercooled horsepower (take a breath) -- it's a real eye-opener to be reintroduced to the incongruent notion that a fast car doesn't necessarily mean 0-60-quick. Really. Our 0-60 best, achieved fingering through our test car's DSG transmission gears, was a satisfying 5.8 seconds. But, gads, in our last roundup of such pocket-rocketry, a Subaru WRX planted a staggering 4.8 seconds to 60; a previous-gen Mazdaspeed3 took 5.5 Mississippis. And yet, the GTI strikes you as simply fast. No need to construct convoluted explanations why. It feels just, plain, fast.

The Revo-Knuckle and insane green paint make me loathe the fact that I'm stuck here in America without the car. It put some serious performance cars to shame, even with leather seats, a moon roof, and a distinct lack of AWD.

Totally Sub-Zero.

^^^ This.

The Evo X (depending on the track) is slightly faster or slightly slower.

Im curious, on what track is the Focus quicker ?

On the Top Gear track, fifth gear track and the Bedford Autodrome the Evo is quicker.

Well I was citing 0-60, cause I don't see a huge comparison on the same track between them.

Here's what I found.

MazdaSpeed3- 5.8sec
VW GTi- 5.8sec
Subaru Impreza WRX SPT- 4.5sec
Mitsu Lancer Sportback- 5.7sec
Ford Focus RS- 5.9sec

0-60 might not count that much, and sure the RS might be faster in corners, but I'd rather have one of the understated cars.

Since when has any sporty Impreza or Mazda 3 been understated? Not with those fender flares, hoods, bumpers, wings and whatnot  Unless there's a new definition for understated..💡

COOL-> A vicious FWD that defies logic (can barely keep up or beat with most AWD bretherens). A car that North America never had (*please correct me if I'm wrong*). A Euro Ford that represents the continent named Europe (while the US has the Mustang & while the Aussies have the [FPV] Falcons). ;)

0-60 counts for nothing if you're counting 0-60 against 0-62 times... which are wildly different.

The Ford Focus RS gets to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds. The Mazdaspeed3 gets to 62 mph in 6.1 seconds, the VW Golf GTi does it in 6.5 seconds.

2 mph may not seem like much of a difference, but since most cars have a shift point between 58-62 mph, the difference can be huge.

Should be noted that since these times were not done in the exact same conditions, it's hard to tell how representative they are, but the cars are fairly evenly matched.

Comparisons will also depend on which EVO variant you're talking about... as the better Evo variants are definitely quicker than the Focus RS. Didn't the Fifth Gear dual test use an FQ?

Im not sure how accurate the info on that site is, looks like anyone can add a time, the comparisons I mentioned are more reliable.

It was the FQ300 used by Fifth Gear which is pretty much the slowest one.

EDIT: Also, the Focus does do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds

Seriously Uncool.

It's a small dopey looking fwd hatchback. It's got 300hp but it's 0-60 time seems kind of slow.

It's cool, even in this ridiculously flamboyant crap green finish, I like it.

The UK-only FQ still produces more torque at a lower rpm peak than the US models... and much more torque than the other Euro-spec models. Depends on the specific Evo model we're talking about. The Focus was still close in that test.

Evo Magazine has timed it to 5.9 seconds to 100 km/h. Many pubs directly translate 0-100 km/h into 0-60 mph. They aren't equal. Point is moot... most "compact" front drivers with over 250 hp at the front have traction control or torque-limiting which plays merry heck with 0-30 mph times.

The Evo was a full second faster round the Fifth Gear track, I would say thats quite a big margin.

I don't know what they're telling you down your local but here is a LINK to an article where EVO Magazine used the VBOX to time the Focus doing 0-60 in 5.9secs

Stand corrected. Looked at that and had a brain-fart, misreading it. Still... torque-limiting, traction control, blah blah.

The FQ300 is still a different model from what some markets get. There are variants of the Evo that are slower. Again, though, I concede that only a head-to-head test with the same driver in the same conditions will be a valid test.

I love it and I bet it's a riot to drive. However, I would feel a complete doorknob driving one so I voted it uncool. Sorry!

Definitely this although I have to be honest and say seriously uncool. If I came home with that my wife would say "WTF is that monstrosity?" then kick me out of the bedroom when I told her how much it cost.

Cool. Just cool. It looks so aggressive and angry, yet slightly subtle at the same time. I really love it. I heard someone driving one down the street with a really loud aftermarket exhaust. Awesomeness at its peak. Very cool car.

Sub-Zero. Reasons?
1. Faster than the Renault Megane R26.R on the quarter mile.
2. Insanely fast for an FF
3. Cheaper than the Megane R26.R
4. Has more amenities than the Megane R26.R
