I just can't see anything that says "oh hey this is nice!" That I haven't seen in other luxury cars already.

Except that the things that make you say "oh hey this is nice!" are likely things it had before any of its competitors.

Yes, the W220 too, by virtue of being neither an A8 or 7 Series.

Doesn't cut it with the newer gen.

Seriously uncool. The last true S class was the W140. MB fired the engineers for going way over budget and hired new ones, which probably resulted in the W140's disastrous M120 V12.
