That would change according to everyone's time zones right ?
Hmm. I guess that would have to be some sort of thing saved by the computer, then, not the server. Kind of like Google preferences? I don't know how any of that stuff works.

Never mind. He did use black for his background. I thought I remembered more blue in it.

How dare you edit your post while I'm trying to quote you!!!

When done right, dark themed boards are great. Something like nk4e did would be nice. Or something like this would be easy on the eyes too. I'm a fan of that last one for obvious reasons. lol

I voted yes. I definitely would go with a dark themed skin.

I would also love a Dark theme, nothing fancy (just like everything below the top banner in negative would do). It would make it a lot eaiser to read early morning / late at night without having to turn on lights or dim the brightness of my monitor (which probably would still be too bright anyway).

So, if we have a dark background, we'll not be able to read Famine's text?

The situation is full of win. Go for it... 👍

Good question. How do text colours get affected? Do they change to the opposite or do they stay the way it is despite of being dark or normal theme?

The sight actually looks great in negative. I wouldn't like a full black but the dark colour of the negative works really well 👍

I think a dark scheme is a good idea, I have a bad habit of browsing in the dark. You get quite a lot of glare from a 24 inch monitor. :p

Hmmmm, good point. But I suppose the default text will be white (or close to it), and other colors will be used for links and highlighted text (like Premo, Mods, et cetera); users can then define whatever color text they want to use.

I will try to make different colors. I saved the original file with all the layers in it.

In that case Famine's text would probably be luminous Green! :sly:

Famine's text would remain indigo as that's what it has been told to be. Normal text, like this, that has no colour tags should change to whatever Jordan sets it to.

It could be possible that a dark colour theme software is programmed to invert text colours, rather than simply changing the 'normal' text colour from black to white.

That's what I though also, but for example, someone writes something in Dark Slate Gray, this would be berely visible in the dark theme. The opposite is also true, or in other words, someone writes something in Lemmon Chiffon, Wheat or even good ol'Yellow, in the Dark theme, it is berely visible for persons who have the normal theme.

That's the case on most forums i've been to with dark colour themes where the default text is white.

The way some people hide words in their posts by changing the color like that wouldn't work very well anymore because some people would be able to read it clearly. I suppose the use of the
tags would go up, then. I haven't seen them used in a long time, actually.

I think that if we do have the Dark Theme. Color would have to be fixed to " Indigo".

Not likely. Would be a huge hassle and people would have to second guess what colors would come out when using the dark theme. I'd see that as more of a hassle than anything else.

Besides, who actually reads Famine's posts? That bold, Indigo text is just a cry for attention, and I refuse to feed it :sly:

Poll over and People want a Dark Theme.

Jordan has already stated that he was going to work on it. Just give him some time and he'll be sure to surprise us all once again.

I've had a 'dark' theme on my to-do list for quite some time now, but other projects always seem to push it to the back burner. There seems to be quite a bit of support for it in this thread, however, so I will give the task higher priority.

Poll over and People want a Dark Theme.

I'm sorry but that just sounds a little childish.

Its already been announced that this one is taking serious consideration. Stop being impatient and be grateful it is being considered.

I'm not being impatient I was mearly stating that the Poll is over and that was the result. I'm quite happy to wait and make sure it's done properly rather than being rushed.

It would be great if we had a theme with a grey or black background as an option on GTPlanet. It would make the site easier on the eyes even with the monitor brightness lowered. I view this forum a lot and lower my monitor darkness still gives me a little eyestrain. The GT5 theme is dark so maybe it would be nice for GTP to have a dark theme too.

Im sure I am not alone in this. What do you guys think?

Plus 1000.

When browsing in the dark, the white background can be very eye straining even with low brightness settings. However, I'm not sure if we do or don't have a skin, since I haven't really checked that part of the CP.

There are only two white themes.

Agreed. But maybe not in a while as Jordan's got a lotta stuff to prepare GTP for the 24th. It would be nice as well. My monitor sometimes 🤬 up sometimes and displays too bright.

Agreed. Maybe after the release date (it'll probably be a couple weeks or so) that Jordan can get the site exactly to how it was.
