BTW. I have run the RGT using the following setup, based on the Carrera Cup Specs in our Clan GT5 Meets on a Sunday am :)
450 bhp 1250 kg with the ballast of 80 kg set to -50. Racing Hards.
Gives the RGT a nice balance 42/58 ;)

Some times:
GVS: High 1:59's
GVS Reverse: High 1:59's - Low 2:00's
 
Interested in bringing a few of the GT3 cars into a combined race weekend with the Super Taikyu series? The real series is experimenting with an FIA GT3 class "ST-X" this year. Not running it this season in my series, but it could be interesting.
 
I'm am leaning toward the LFA and the Viper at the moment but l need to finalize all the cars first before I just into one of the teams. Also I might stay with my trusty 430 it all depends how all the cars are in the end.

I was running about 1/2 second quicker than the pack in the 430 at season 1 specs, hence the power and weight change. But that was only looking at Tokyo sector times. Been trying to run all the cars through Nurb GP/F and Suzuka to get some more data before making any other changes.
 
I want to run a tighter smaller track like say autumn ring to get a broad scale of the field because most of the tracks are high speed with few hairpins and such. So with a tight track we can gauge the weakness of the newer heavier cars etc. Suzuka is a good track as well but from my understand of the tracks this is what I see of the four testing tracks

Tokyo: very fast high speed course with minimal banking. One hair and a chicane for some variety.

Nurb GP/F: very good range of corners. Some with banking three different speed hairpins. Low speed chicane high speed S curve. Great test track for overall results

Suzuka: lots of sweeping corners some tight corners the average speed is a tad giver than Nurb. Great corner for leveling out the field.

Autumn ring: great little corner for the gauging of the better handling cars. A few corner will also give us data of how good the cars acceleration is as well. Torque and grip is key here.

Also because I would love to test at all four tracks but I don't have the times which is why I want to see if we can split the testing between the tracks.

For example I absolutely love Tokyo. I would do some very thorough test on one track compare to splitting the time between four. Tan you would pick your favorite track I'm guessing you enjoy Suzuka because you originally test there before(I honestly don't know lol) Maybe Rice could teat at Nurb GP/F and Hon could test at autumn ring etc.

This way we split all the work and have a large amount of data across multiple tracks. Instead of all of us testing on similar track and we all get scrambled times due to different driving styles. We only need to compare the cars abilities, not each others driving skills.

Looks like a pretty cool series you have GN. Like the idea of SG2 class. I'll keep an eye on your thread for dates/times on the races.
 
Lets have a safety car like last time if possible and a designated speed limit on the outlap.

Lol IPhone auto correction sucks I'll meant "you enjoy Suzuka" I'll edit the op. I don't want to force you to stay at a track if you have a track you enjoy more test their I believe consistent is far better then variety.

Probably run Saturdays, but ultimatley up to the poll.

Would like to coordinate it somewhat with your series by either running different days or offset hours so we can get people interested in doing both.

Will be fixed up when I get a new GT5 disc (old one has lots of scratches,albeit very minute ones,needed a torch to see them) and give the PS3 a once over.Will be back ASAP:)
Have been testing a stock LFA on race med's and I love how quick and precise the steering is.There is a major torque deficiency(Maybe im too used to the Z06):p but reckon the race gearing will compensate.Oh and it sounds frenetic.REAL frenetic.

Still haven't made a decision what to run. Haven't had a chance to do anything this week 'cause of planning for a big cookout for the holiday weekend and puttin' in O.T. at work. Of course this means I haven't had time to practice with the DFGT wheel either, though I did get my DIY aluminum paddle shifters mounted. They rock, now I can actually find the shifters easily, the original buttons on the back of the spokes definetly weren't cutting it, plus the paddles look way cooler.

I did go through the dealership and get my hands on a Ford GT, which I had to buy 'cause the one I had couldn't be brought back to GT3 spec's. Also got a LF-A, Euvora, Viper and SLS to go along with the XKR I did up last week. Still need to get the GT, LF-A, Eurova, Viper, SLS and the stock DB9 I have to GT3 specs with suspensions etc., as they are all still stock. Ran out of money and haven't had time to earn any. Do up a few seasonals and I'll get them done.

I'm leaning towards the GT, LF-A, Viper, or SLS based on looks only. XKR looks killer in British racing green and dark titanium BBS rims, and GT Auto front splitter, rear defusers, and wing. But I wasn't crazy about the handling but I haven't even drove any of them with the wheel. So who knows.

So as of right now I need to choose between

Ford GT
Lexus LF-A
Dodge Viper
Aston DB9
Jaguar XKR
Lotus Eurova
Mercedes SLS

Like I said in the earlier post, gonna be damn hard to pick a favorite, I like them all.:banghead:
 
By the way. Tier, you still working on posting season 1 full results? I know your busy testing for season 2 and other stuff probably too but I was just wondering.
 
Point taken. I would be a safety car guy, seeing as I suck at racing.

@ Tier 2: Should we make a cars comittee if say someone doesn't have a car before the race, and would like to use one? I have almost all the cars in this league.

Having a pilot car/race marshall would be nice Yoman. Get us around the track for the parade lap then watch the race to enforce any penalties in real-time with black flags/pit drive through, instead of a post review and time added scenario.

The color coding is by a 3 color scale, green is within the average, red is the highs and lows. I have not tested the recommendations in the "comments" column.

What I lack in driving ability, I make up for in excel nerdishness. :dopey:

Nurb GP/F is a great track for this type of testing being it has four distinct sections. Have a couple more cars to run through Nurb then will concentrate on Suzuka. Should see some patterns between the two, especially Nurb Sector 4 and Suzuka Sector 3.

The one thing this does not take into account is a proper tune. I doubt there is a "1:1" ratio when comparing the slower and faster cars (shaving off 1 second or more on the Ferrari 458 would be harder than shaving 1 second off the Mustang with tuning alone).

Dodge Viper
525HP - 1,315kg - Mediums
R246: 1:43.071
GTP_Johny did 1:42.9.

Aston Martin DB9
520HP/1,387KG - Softs
R246: 1:42.764
Can improve the lap a bit tho.

Audi R8
500HP/1,315KG - Mediums
R246: 1:43.406 35 downforce
Was tired can improve this lap too.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia
500HP/1,250KG - Mediums
R246: 1:42.861 with 35 downforce
Have tune the suspension for the track yet.

Ford GT
500HP/1,400KG - Mediums
R246: 1:41.929 with 40 downforce
R246: 1:42.589 with 25 downforce
It's still a little fast.

I'm going to do some more testing later to get the rest of the cars done.

Edit: lol you beat me to it tier. I like the chart! I need to get the split times tho, all my laps are completed best laps. There are a few cars that faster in some sectors others not so much.
 
You seriously need to balance that evora, maybe 1250 KG? and the MP4 should get a 10HP increase and weight decrease of 10KG?
