7pm GMT is in Venezuelan time???
Definitely not making it tonight, instead I'm off to see my newborn baby cousin Esra. We have yet to inform the parents what his name spells backwards...
Everything OK there?
KatieganI'm not happy at all with that round.
A few of you were complaining about the dirt. I asked you guys about a month or so ago if you wanted more dirt on the calendar - the vast majority of you said yes. So, I gave you what the majority wanted. Today, people were complaining as if I'd forced G Trail upon you all. You agreed to have more dirt, you got more dirt. Don't say you want something if you don't. If you wanted to keep Motegi on the calender, then say so. If you want me to take dirt off the calendar, say so. But just remember this is rallycross, which means there is rallying in it, which is on dirt.
Another thing that really annoyed me is the fact that most of you seemed to forget basic rules of racing. When racing on tarmac you don't use the walls to drive around it, do you? So why should you use the fences on dirt to slow you down? Some of you weren't even braking, you were just going around there like you were playing dodgems. Now I'm not going to say I was perfect and never touched the fence, but I did try to keep a clean line like I would do on tarmac. Watching replays, some of you were just keeping your foot on the floor and grinding around, which was causing you all to crash into each other and point fingers at each other. Dirt is not the same as tarmac. Dirt is a rough surface with less grip, which you need to take into account. You only have one set of tyres for dirt, you can't count on racing softs to guide you round like you're on rails, and you can't count on the fences to do that for you either. If that race was in real life, half of you would've died from falling off the mountain.
Slow down and race clean. You were all pretty good at W Trail, but it seems you'd all turned into 12 year olds who weren't even taking this seriously today. I'm hoping we can be a lot better at Chamonix in a few weeks...![]()
