Welcome to the weekly GTP GT2 Championship Series.

You can feel free to join in at anytime, as this series will be ongoing.

Rankings

Instead of points, this series will utilize a ranking system. In order to be ranked, you must have entered a minimum of two events, three of the first ten, and 25% of all events after the first ten weeks.

The rankings will be based upon a 10 point system. The winner of each event will always recieve 10 points, and the subsequent finishers given points based upon the number of participants in each race.

For example. If there are four participants. 1st = 10 points, 2nd = 7.5 points, 3rd = 5 points, 4th = 2.5 points If there are ten participants 1st = 10 points, 2nd = 9 points.....

Your rank will be based upon your average score for races participated in.

General rules

No cheating will be tolerated in this series. Please save all runs that you have, and be prepared to produce backup to your run if requested, such as settings, sector times, exact description of your run, with corner exist speeds, gear... While it is normally not necessary to produce such information, it is better to be safe then sorry, and save the run on your card. A dex drive is also a useful tool to email runs.

You must have at least two wheels on the track at all times. During single lap events, no wall touches of any kind are allowed. Wall riding is most certainly not allowed. During longer runs, such as 5 laps plus, contact with the walls is discouraged, as is contact with the AI.

Official Race 5 Announcement
Circuit: Tahiti Maze
Time Trial (well, Rally Mode IS a time trial.)
Cars: Citroen Xsara Rally, Ford Focus Rally, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Rally, Peugeot 206 Rally, Subaru Impreza Rally '99

In other words, kinda like the current WRC. I'll be the guy Makinen-ing around the bends in the Mitsu.

Have an idea for a race, feel free to submit it.

👍

So....tempting......to......use......Speed 12........Must.......resist......

Nice races there Fogel 👍 I will surely try to submit as often as my week allows :)

One question. Is the Cerbera in Round 1 the Cerbera LM? The stock [R]Cerbera is unlikely to match the GTOne for pace.

on the chevy VS ford II use fully modded chevy cars vs GT40'S on Laguna seca 3 laps or do a viper VS.venturi atlantique 400GT war 2 laps or an american vs japaniese race on seattle full course (forwards) 4 laps cars allowed: skyline, supra, vette, viper, tommykaira ZZII any race viper saleen SR widebody any JGTC skyline supra nsx or other JGTC car

Hi Mike - yes the Cerberra LM. I've noted the changes above as well.

GT40 - thanks for the input. Certainly a Saleen Wide Body vs. STP Viper is a possibility. I'll have to check to see how close they are. Hopefully we'll see you compete in a few of the races.

I've run the 98' GT ONE, Speed 12, and Cerberra LM, with times in that order so far. Admittedly haven't worked too hard on the TVR Machines.

GT ONE settings.

I took the Nissan, Cerbera and Toyota for a spin. For me, the Cerbera has better grip (uber sticky rear-end), whilst the Toyota has the straight line speed advantage.

Almost identical times for those two, with the Nissan nowhere.

whoa! are those settings at the very bottom the LSD settings?

I've run the Speed 12 a few times, and it might challenge the GT ONE. I don't know if I can catch that GT ONE time, but it could be close. A bit more tinkering on the settings is needed. The GT ONE maxed out around 194 - 195 mph, the Speed 12 is hitting 204mph.

YikesYikesYikes...
This will be interesting, a true test of whatever driving skill I thought I had.
And none of these cars I have driven on a regular basis...
Oh, by the way, quick question about the submission format.
When you say "sector 1, sector 2, etc", do you want the sector times from our fastest lap, or the best for each sector from any lap?

Just the sector times from your fastest lap.

RB26DETT
does the transmission upgrade mean just a full racing transmission or the whole drivetrain upgrade

That would be the whole drivetrain upgrade. Of course, you are looking at the Ford Mustang GT350, which is next weeks race... this week we are at Apricot Hill with the Mini, Lotus Elan and Toyota Starlet.

Note ***

The Mini is likely the fastest car to use for the North American Users
The Lotus Elan is the fastest car for European/Aussie... PAL Users

I am using the Toyota.

If people ever want settings, even the week of the race, just ask.

the lotus suits my type of driving and got the fastest time with it. we'll see who and what car is faster soon. i've spent quite alot of time fine tuning my car

I'm gonna go with the Mini, but seeing as I missed the deadline by some 6 hours (damn work!), I'll see if Fogelhund will let me in.
EDIT: Did the race. Ho-lee shiot, that Mini can motor! I smoked a Cobra Coupe, Vector M12, Tuscan Speed 6, Clio Sport, and V8 Vantage by at least 2.75 seconds!

I haven't heard a reply from Mike, so I'll give him a until tomorrow. Yes, the Mini is quicker then most people might originally suspect.

Standings

Fogelhund 10 + 10/2 = 10 rank
RB26DETT 7.5 + 6.66 /2 = 7.08 rank
Mike Rotch 5 = 5 rank
Suigi 2.5 + 3.3333 = 2.92 rank

Off to Midfield Reverse for some Ground Pounders. Settings given upon request.

RB26DETT gets to choose the cars and format for round #4. So what will it be?

Suigi will choose the cars and format for round #5.

Oooh, really?
I'm thinking so far a WRC race idea...
Circuit: Either Green Forest, Tahiti Maze, or Pikes Peak
3-Lap Time Trial
Cars: Citroen Xsara Rally, Ford Focus Rally, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V Rally, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Rally, Peugeot 206 Rally, Subaru Impreza Rally '99, Subaru Impreza Rally

EDIT: It just dawned on me. I have a chance of winning if I enter EVERY race, and the number of participants continues to shrink.
I got 5.833 points already!

The Camaro and GT350 are very evenly matched at Midfield Reverse. A pretty challenging track though. Hopefully you guys are having as much fun as I am.

they are very even but the gt350 is more easier to tune edging out the camaro. and midfield reverse is a challange as its reversed.

for a race i'm thinking high powered production cars with only hp adders like a viper, venturi 400gt, supras with about 500ish hp. And all this power is gonna transfered to stock tires. i'll call it "Taming the Beast" my idea was to limit fine tuning like spring rates, etc. of these cars so driver skill comes into play more than tuning skill. let me get your thoughts on this

i have no idea how you go so fastin the past 2 races. i spent hours racing and tuning to reduce my time to what i got.

edit: could i get setting for the gt350?
