racing with Jake today was great. I feel a smaller ballast on the Bentley is good

After racing with golfer today and in light of the testing I've been doing lately, I was wondering if we could lower the ballast on the bentley to about 45 kg? Either that or take a look at adding some small restrictions to the GT-One? I just can't go down the straight with the Toyota, and my handling is barely if at all better even with a slightly smaller ballast.

Not making demands here but I just think if anyone is going to keep up with Jamman and Co. in the GT-ones something has to change a bit.

The question, though, for balancing should not be,

"Is this going to balance the cars on a straight at track X."

It should be,

"Is this rules change going to balance the cars across all the tracks this season as far as overall lap times."

There will always be stronger and weaker tracks for individual cars. Well, unless you're in the R10 in which case every track is a weak one :P

I agree with this as well Mike/JT. I just think that the GTOne is faster than the Bentley even before ballast, which is fine, I just think the Bentley is slightly overhandicapped at 960. I think 940 or 945 would be a little more appropriate is all.

Your probably right about the Bentley being over handicapped.
 
Jake and I were testing last night. At 960kg and 940kg. There was about a second lost from 20kg! This was at Nurb GP/F. I'll be online doing some testing at LeSarthe 2005 tonight for anyone who wants to join me.
 
I don't think the Bentley was over handicapped, but I agree that the GT-ONEs could get some ballast too. Whether it is La Sarthe, Daytona, an oval or Nürburgring, that thing is super awesome - my two only cars to beat it is (of course) the 2001 Audi R8 and the Bentley.

I think we saw at Daytona that the Bentley wasn't over handicapped, that's not what I would say it is when it gets a win :) People could only keep up with it because Jake made a few mistakes and because they were in the slipstream. Well, everyone but Razor??

So, I start in school tomorrow. 3rd and last year of college (I think it's called in English, the level under University), which means that I will have less time to practice - but I'll be okay as long as the Pescarolo is reliable.

Hoping that a lot of the guys who have signed up will show for the second and last pre-season race. A race that I will win though, so don't get your hopes up, lol :p

Still testing I see, and doing all sorts of shuffling around because of the ultra fast Bentley, and everyone thinks the GT-One is an ultra fast car too. If the S8 is so fast, let's just ban it, that will certainly help get more people to use more cars, and we should stick with our normal power settings.
 
First off, peter, great idea. Lets ban all the good lmp's and group C's and have an r10 vs jaguar series.

In all seriousness, bombe, I won because razor pitted twice, and you and mu and Johny repeatedly took yourselves out, not BC I had a blazing fast pace. My fast lap barely broke 132 and it was super clean. I just think the Bentley will be right on the pace of all the unrestricted cars at a 45 kg ballast, as opposed to being consistent but slightly off. Just my 2 cents.

Lol and as an aside, bombe, I made one mistake where I had to slow to 60 MPH in the chicane, not a few. The time you caught me Kirk swerved onto the race track into me from the pits.

Suffice to say, some small restrictions on the gtone would be OK as well. All I want is for several cars to be competitive.

i think we have to abandon the R10, we can give it 500 hp & make it the fastest car on the track and i still don't it will be enjoyable to drive.

Yep, no tune will help that nonsense. To bad that car looks great, and cockpit view is sweet.

He might of forgotten his sun cream and be too burnt to race :O
Or he may be tired and yet still not be able to give me my set up for the GT-ONE

Mu has been kind of quiet lately. Is he a hoody making trouble in London - or is he standing outside the door with a shotgun to keep them away? ;)

We had something similar in Denmark 3 years ago (or is it 4 years ago?). A youth club house (or something similar, Idk what to call it) had been sold (government owned it) to a religious group - who's only purpose was to buy the house to demolish it because the youths who used the house was punkers and the likes - people their religion said was "bad".
The house was used by approx 150 people a day, but the troublemakers were over 2,000 people. I guess people want an excuse to commit crime?

It stopped when the media stopped covering it.

I love La Sarthe 2005, so I'd better get some practice later. The Pesky needs a setup specifically for that track. My strategy will be to just "hang on" to the front and then win because of my tyre wear ;)
 
There was a C60 Courage in my UCD, but I didn't have enough to buy it :(

Maybe I'll cycle my lvl 23 ticket today till I get one.

On topic: I won't be here for this Saturday's pre-season race or the race next week. At least Jamman is coming back. :D
