it wasnt so much a case of "took you out" but more a case of blocked the track causing a 6 car pile up in a 7 car race

Yeah spinning on the last corner of Tokyo isn't advised :sly:

I must say though the days of looking at golfer as a backmarker are over. I've given him "the setup" and he is now flying in the GT one :)

I'm the new back marker :p lol I'll be on this afternoon if u fancy it seb

Yeah sure :)

Something amazing has just happened! Look at the new section that has just come up in the F1 section of the CM forums:

F1 Online: The Game, a racing and management title playable in a web browser, has been announced for early next year.

The free-to-play game allows players to race on iconic tracks such as Monaco and Silverstone from a top down perspective across a number of online game modes.

As well as embarking upon a full 2011 FIA Formula One Championship, players can race in individual Grand Prix events complete with practice and qualifying rounds, as well as a range of challenges and time trials.

Progress across each mode will be tracked through leaderboards and shared across social networking sites.

A management mode will also be available, allowing players to create their own racing team with its own unique name and livery, as well as control its commercial interests, production and research development.

"Formula One is a proven major games brand that resonates with players on a global level and is recognised as one of the biggest sports licenses in video games," said Codemasters Online vice president David Solari.

"As the worldwide gaming market evolves, 2012 is the perfect time to extend this series to the free-to-play market.

"With a bespoke design for accessible browser play, F1 Online: The Game is a perfect complementary experience to the HD series and will appeal to a broad spectrum of Formula One's millions of fans worldwide."

Developed by Codemasters using the Unity game engine, F1 Online: The Game will make use of the full Formula 1 licence and uses track data and assets from F1 2011, releasing later this year.

F1 Online: The Game will be available in the first quarter of 2012. Players can register their interest at F1OnlineTheGame.com or facebook.com/F1OnlineTheGame.

Thats the only news so far but this sounds incredible. How have they got around the license to do this!? Hey who cares. CM are making another F1 game :)

this sounds incredible

No it doesn't. Its a top down racer. Top down racers are impossible as it is. What will it be like at Monaco and Spa and others etc...? Worse. And management mode can't compare to B-spec. Becuase in B-spec, it is possible to have a nail biting epic FGT race. I havemt but K Kobayashi is better than Senna right now

You're not saying that B-spec mode produces epic races, golfer??

If car is underpowered = you lose
If car is even to others = gain a few positions / lose a few positions
If car is overpowered = you win
(If car's setup is epic and car is equal in power = possible win)

It's that simple :)
--

Idk why you are looking so much forward to F1 11? If the previous one was that good, how come you're using GT5 more than F1?? ;)

Only titles I'm looking forward to is NHL 12, MAYBE FIFA 12, MAYBE Uncharted 3 and MAYBE GRID 2 (sometime next year, I think). NHL12 is the only 100% to-be-bought game from my side, all the others will have to compete against each other.

In FGT, it is all up to the driver making it awesome

I don't. I play both regularly. It's just F1 2011 is looking so good as long as it doesn't have as many bugs as 2010 :)

Lots of beating and banging going on. That save on lap 8 from me was incredible. Usually that's a spin. You took me out on the entrance of the back 'straight' coming out of turn 7. I'm sure it wasn't intentional but I'm not sure I can say the same for the other Peugeot. Look at 12:36 from your video.

Yeah he hit me and proceeded to ram me right and then lifted off which caused me to veer left....sorry haha

I should be able to make tomorrows race but turns out I have to work tomorrow until about 4:30 which means I might not make it home until 5:30pm so will miss most of the practice before race :grumpy:

I have only had a chance to run about 6 laps with 908 and still trying to find a good setup with the car. The setup feels better than one I had last week but does anyone have an idea of what a good laptime is for the 908 best lap was a 3.34 which I suspect is still quite a bit off the frontrunner pace.

Think 1 stopping will be the best strategy option at tomorrows race also.

Had some good running with golfer, MU, Jake, bombe, AMF and briefly Drum tonight. Well mostly good running. Team GT one is looking in good shape for the Pre season tomorrow I feel :)

Not boosting my confidence that all of my races ended in a wreck on lap 1, but hopefully that won't be the case tomorrow.

But I won't win that race either, so I can just start preparing for Fuji already.

EDIT: Have Peter said anything about quitting this? Haven't seen him in a while in here and he hasn't been online on PSN for 2 weeks now.

I might be available for a race tomorrow if there is room. Just going to be on the lookout to see if there are slots open.

Hey Bermuda, I whipped up a logo variation for our Weeknights division thread. 👍

Do you have to do that every time you change cars

Do you have to do that every time you change cars

no. its just AutoVista mode, if you want to walk around an explore your car you can. theres no going to change your oil after you do 3-4 races in a car either.. :sly:

* Im just got really excited about Jeremy Clarkson doing a little commentary on every car in the game.

Still look like cartoons to me. Something about Forza just doesn't look 'real life like' in the way GT does. They do have better options though, and probably a better career mode, but the driving is yet to be seen.

a few notes from watching the first 8 mins.

-They said Jeremy Clarkson will tell you how to feel the car. He can't drive any race cars because his brain doesn't work in that way. So when you do get to the Forza 4 LMP cars, he will won't really be able to commentate. Also, Jeremy just power slides cars and says they are rubbish if they are grippy and fast round a circuit. Well then what on earth is he going to say in a RACING GAME where you must do exactly that. I'd rather have Sebastien V and Seb Loeb and J Gordon. They know what they are doing and they have proved it with an impressive record of speed. Clarkson has nothing.
(I really like Clarkson for being funny, so when he trys to help me go fast, I will probably quit the game. at least Tiff Needel in Ferrari Challenge has been to Le Mans and more)

-Kinect driving is stil stupid. I mean driving, not just with no vibrate or feedback, but without even the weight of the wheel in your hand? Nobody that knows Jack about racing would want that.

-ANd that vista thing is 100% stupid. I don't want to know how the car was built. I don't want to look around the car. I want to jump in the hot seat and blast round the circuit.

-That wheel is $700!!!! that over £500!!!!! My wheel is amazing and cost £80!!!!!!!!!! and yes it is a DFGT

No back to racing seriously and properly. At SSR5 I have an advangtage over the guys who I raced there that are currently at their peak driving speed. The drivers were Jamman and MU and the advantage was 0.017 but then Jamman beat me. Can we race there so I have a solid chance of a win or at lest a podium?

Oh and sorry everyone about Tokyo. It wasn't great I will admit that. I look for my 150 brake point which should be 200 cus of draft but I missed the 150, hit Jake causing us to block the people who were on the outside causing a full grid pile up at turn 1. Amusing... yes. Annoying... yes. Didthe dark lord hate it..... yes

I'm decent around SSR5, love that track. Was getting 1:13s in the GTONE, but with a lousy setup. Could do 1:12's if I could get the tune right.

Forza - it looks great, but I will never get an Xbox as long as I have the PS3. Too bad they don't make it for PS3 too..
--

Oh, golfer, that 1st turn - I didn't just hate it.. I was in 1st going in to the corner and as soon as I had to start turning 4 cars blocked the road and instead I went straight into the wall. From 1st to last :grumpy: And then I had the wrong tyres in the Landon race, how fun is that..?

Adam also moved me out of the way in both races like he was racing the GT5 AI which is extremely annoying and I hope we won't see that when the racing gets serious.
--

EDIT: Mike, the black logo looks extremely good. Very nice, too bad it's the American one ;)
--

Regs for tonight.. I'm wondering if we are doing 621 again or it's 600 like the American race was.

Favorites to win: Jake & Jamman - their cars do most of the job ;)

Me and Jake had some great races yesterday. We had a 20 minute race round Indy with a mandatory pit stop and were never more than 3 seconds apart. Coming on to the final bend on the last lap though I managed to pick up a slipstream from golfer who was a backmarker and that allowed me to be safe from Jake's slipstream. We were wondering actually whether that counts as team orders. Technically golfer did nothing wrong, but he did interfere in the race result to help his teammate.

I got a PS3 because of GT5. I'm not too interested in Forza personally :)

I think 6 is legal especially after watching 12 hrs of le mans the other month

I thought people would think the first two were legal. I can't see how anyone can avoid cutting them at least 3-4 times in an hour...
