Would of been there tonight but I had to abruptly leave (Jam and mu saw) as I went to the cinema to see The Hangover Part II. Definately worth it

Are we actually doing weather change? The rain model is a bit silly. Understeer in, Oversteer out....

Yes we are. So prepare for a nice rally race with 680bhp LMP race cars, yeehaa :D I have never done a lap in the wet with the wheel yet, damn... now I'm not hoping for rain, lol.

EDIT: But unless it rains for around half-an-hour or more, the rain usually is light and not as bad to drive around in compared to when you set the track weather to fixed rain, which is heavy rain all the time.

Dude, that's exactly what it's like IRL.
Understeer in, oversteer out.
Its actually one of the best weather models I've raced on.

+1

i suck in the rain, but its still fun

I dont mind the rain just think its abit stupid how u can be faster on slicks than wets or inters when its clearly a wet track!!

Theres a trick to this......If you set the room to rain and then people join they can basically put on slick tires and run in the rain(even with grip reduction set to real).......

The key is everyone has to join the room first. Then the host can reset the track to weather change and then you'll have no grip on slicks and be forced to use rain tires.

I think thats how it works though only 70% sure

Haha. Only in low grip level. On real it's impossible to get the car above 125mph and once you do you spin. Found this out last season at La Sarthe practice ;)

The spreadsheets are up to date now guys, thx to bombe. but im not gonna bother printscreening a pic till after round 3.

Ill be online on Friday between 12-3 eastern for practice and some races

Did some testing earlier at Rome reverse. WOW!!! What a great track. The barriers are so close and if you get it wrong, you get it really wrong but I really like the circuit. I was absolutely flying off the corners, blasting down the straights. Pure fun. Jamman disagrees. He thinks it is a silly track. Would it be able to race there in future series since the track produces very close lap times

The track sucks, I actually prefers the ovals. The old Rome circuit would have been good, but this one... silly.

And I finally remembered to look at the replay of Johny in the R10 TDI at La Sarthe from one of our for fun race sessions. I do realize, you are faster than me Johny, but I would also like to say - corner cut ftw? So many times :p

I suggest that we for the season finale make some kind of video of how to race that track, because it's so easy to cut a corner. In real life the rules are simple: keep within the white line with all four wheels unless you are forced to go outside it (I think). Maybe we don't have to be THAT strict, but we need to know when we are getting penalized and when we are not.

Examples of corner cutting
Dunlop
Going out on the straight (Tetre Rouge or what it's called)
Both chicanes on the straight
Mulsanne (corner at the end of the straight)
Porsche Curves (cutting the last left turn and/or going wide close to the wall)
Ford chicanes

Sorry Johny, but I caught you all of these places, lol :) My point is: we are probably all going to cut the track somewhere at some point no matter what. We probably need to make some of the places legal.

The most critical ones are the Ford chicanes, Dunlop and Tetre Rouge. They give thee biggest advantages. You are always tempted to cut a little bit if you're trying to close a gap. I know that feeling far too well, lol :D

Watching real life, the Audi and Peugeot cut the final right very badly on the ford chicanes because they push so hard that they just can't stop. Also, the run of on the porsche curves was added to help safety but drivers IRL now use it to go even faster. Also, if you are following a french car and they give you turbulence thus less downforce thus understeer, then you run wide on the exit, you will be warned for exceding track limits. However if you are the french car, and you are 4 laps down, ignoring blue flags, driving delibrately aggresively to take the car lapping you off the track, then you need not worry because you are selfish, ignorant and disgraceful drivers and the same for the team and you never deserve to race again. Shame on you Peugeot. I still get annoyed about this now. How dare they. And then to say the marshals weren't waving the blues when they were everywhere. And the biased stewards. But what I said at the start is true and they don't get penalized for that so I feel it should be allowed

found this.

+1 it is a silly track, especially for LMP1

Golfer,

How much of that had something to do with GT5's corner cutting? :p

What I meant was that we need some kind of guidelines telling us where OUR legal track lines are, otherwise we are going to get times of 1:15.xxx just like the previous seasons, but with 200bhp less... ;)

Imo, 2 wheels on the track, curbs is part of the track. The 'cut' of the ford chicane is acceptable (in the 2011 Le Mans vid) as the 2 outside would be on the curbs.

We could say not to hit the bumps on the track on the inside of the curbs (and outside @ tetre rouge and out of the porsche curves). I usually hit at least one set at dunlop though :nervous:

Is there any chance whatsoever of starting race half an hour later at 1:30? I know you have work BK but I would be able to make it majority of weeks without fail. Even quarter of an hour later would suit me better but 1:30 would be a lot more ideal.

I don't want to turn up having rushed every week only to miss the start by 2 laps or so :(

i started at 1:30 last week, i waited untill we at least had 10 people.

I know. I wasn't rushing because I thought you'd be starting at 1:00 and by the time I got there I thought you guys would be half way through the race. And I still only missed the start by 2 laps :yuck:

i have to be finished by 2:30, so im not starting any later than 1:31. your still going to miss qualifying though
Putting in some practice now...this should be a fun race. Suzuka is one of my favourite tracks.

your up @ 3:30!! dont bother practicing in the rain, cuz if it rains were are all doomed

Yeah I did the whole thing of going to sleep too late until eventually I've been waking up at 5pm everyday.

I'm just staying up an entire day to "lap" myself and go to bed at a regular time like 9pm on Saturday night.

Running 1:47.5s. Trying to get it down into the 46s to keep up with the pace-setters.

I don't mind where I start to be honest. I just want to have some good racing :) In fact the back will probably be the best place to start at this first corner :p

True but we have a rolling start which should eliminate that from happening. :)

My best laps are high 1:45s/low 1:46s. Nothing compared to Mav's 1:42s :p

My best lap time so far has been 44.4. I'm just wondering if I'll be able to get the laptimes down to this in the race though.

I'm hoping for a pole position or maybe just a top 3 and then cruise around Suzuka the entire race and maybe get 2nd (cuz I can't beat Mav).

EDIT: My bad, it was already updated.

I hope your all ready for an awesome drive from me. Hopefully it will be an overtaking festival from me :D

If it's like this every week I'm going to be having a lot of fun racing. Not as high positions but I really don't care too much about standings anymore. I mean I'm hardly going to win. Just interested in good, clean racing from now on. Which is why I make/join all my leagues which I enter :)

just being putting in a few laps in the 905 my best 44.2 how the hell does mav find 2 seconds :scared: oh well iam gonna be fighting for a poduim!because with mav racing there no chance of another victory :sly:

I'll be fighting for the last step on the podium hopefully.... Should be an interesting race.
