Started career with Virgin PC but as usual keyboard sucks Quali Bahrain 18 th ! Race - 16 , i really enjoyed the race it was very fair UP TO MELBOURNE

I remeber the first season of the game, in a Lotus, Melbourne, extremelly heavy rain. And again when I did Virgin. Quali last. Finish last. Rubbish race. Heavy rain. Slow car. High difficulty. Boring. Its better now. Im at Ferrari. Oh, and btw, its long after 7pm Pacific and from what I can tel, the message saying "Playstation Network is currently undergoing maintenence" usually means its not working. Oh well, more B-spec grinding for me. Nearly lvl 28, then I will win the Indy 500 and get a GT40 in GULF colors. YAY! If only GT5 had last years LMP cars like that Swiss team and the Lola Aston in GULF colors.

Problems with F1 2010's AI are they are too easy. I won the championship in a season with Mclaren with a pad quite easily when it was on expert. And first season with lotus i was getting regular points on expert. CM say they might be making a hardcore sim mode in future titles to satisfy people's needs. When they say future titles though it could be 2011, 2012 or 2013 etc. 2011 PLEASE CM!!!!!!!

And also the rain on it looks very nice and everything but when it starts raining the AI pit immediately but I cam go round for 5 laps with almost no loss in grip when there is spray coming from my car 👎
Along with those above, all the other bug fixes need solving, better multiplayer, better live the life, improved physics, few new features and maybe a safety car could make an awesome game. But we'll see what codies come up with.

You think pitting immediately for tyres in that is bad? Hvae you seen the GT5 AI in the dream car championship. If it rains but the race before was dry, they start on dry tyres and at the end of lap 1, they pit for wet tyres. I mean WTF blind drivers they can't see the weather? No wonder they are easy to beat. Oh and I finished B-spec Laguna Seca 200 miles in an X2010 in 1h 30. The yellow nose part was carbon fibre at the end because he was useless and because he planned to pit on lap 88 and 89, I cancelled the second stop which was fuel and he ran out of fuel on th exit of the last turn on lap 90. Quite funny to watch. I think he won by 39 laps so It's not that embarrising for 2nd is it? Going to run it again today plus another race to get to 28 then I will run the Indy 500!! GT40 today. And somehow, my B-spec driver has become a higher rank than ,my own B-spec rank? obviously the XP ranks are lower at higher ranks for the drivers.

Oh yeah... HAPPY EASTER (to those who are christian on this thread)

Whoa, 3 whole days. Perhaps Sony sent all the employees to an extended weekend too.

Just read on the EU playstation blog that they are rebuilding the network to reinforce in against outside atacks and "although this process is time consuming it is worth the additional security".
So, now we know exactly why the network is down. The hackers attacked (external extrusion) and so Sony took down PSN for security of gamers and are currently rebuilding the entire network so they can't attack again. If these few days its off results in it never being off again then I'm not bothered. I've don elots of B-spec (as this thread shows) as well as F1 2010 (also in the thread) so I'm not bothered. I really want my Lvl 24 gift car ticket so I get a free F2007 so I can brag to my friend because he glitched and brought his F10, F2007 and FGT so when I get given the ticket for completing races and earning credits and gift cars he will be very jealous. Also, if he gets a Lvl 24 ticket (unlikely as he hates endurance) then he will end up with a useless duplicate. I read guy who ended up with FOUR!!! XJ13s. I mean wtf are you meant to do with four of those. They are epic but you only need one. Maybe two if you want one that will never be driven.

You can paint the XJ13. I saw a guy driving around in a pink XJ13. He should get arrested to be honest, lol, so ugly.

Yeah, from Sony's tone it seems like the PSN will be down for a couple of days more.

I have a feeling that the main thing they're concerned with is protecting user account information, and that they got hacked well enough to endanger things like payment and address info.

Few other things would force them to keep the network down for this long.

There's no force feedback in codemaster's game. They need to get it to "feel" like GT5 in order for me to want to buy it. The wheel feedback makes it feel like a car and not some screen object being pointed down the track.

If the next game is the same old point it and brake when it slides out of nowhere BS I think alot of people will be turned off by it (atleast I hope.)

It'd be nice to have a realistic F1 game so I dont have to spend $$ on i paying + all the $ on 3D cards for my PC.

I really like F1 2010. Monaco is actually like the real life circuit, unlike GT5 which isn't like any Monaco I know. The run off in GT5 is wrong and the crash barriers give no room for error and tighten the circuit unrealistically. I also think that Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Hockenheim, Hungaroring, Spa, Singapore, Yeongam and Yas Marina are all some of the best cirucits is the world. If I could put five tracks in GT5 that aren't already in the game, then I would choose Seibring, Interlagos, Spa, Yeongam and Hungaroring as they are my favourite circuits in the world. I mean, you know that high speed section of Korea after the triple chicane, rather like Suzuka? That section is sooooooo fun in F1 2010. Stringing together those corners at 150mph+ and then braking into the right hand before another high speed section. Pure bliss. Oh and the final corner, after the long right hander and then that little clipping point on the pit straight is so fun as well. Love final corners like that.

Oh, and Rich, I prefer the F1 2010 feedback to GT5. I mean, if you drive the F10 at any circuit and let go of the wheel then you get shaken off the track because the force feedback constantly alternates between left and right to simulate the amount of grip between the tyre and the trakc to show that there is a weight induced in the wheel by the grip. This happens at any straight at all speeds (more noticeable above 50) even on smooth track surfaces. However, at Spain last year, on the back straight, Alonso had no hands on the wheel as he changed brake bias and F-duct at over 150mph. He just stayed pointed forwards, like F1 2010. However, in GT5, you would instantly be spun off the track by the feedback. Yes, at some circuits it is realistic like Le Mans where it is already very bumpy however at alot of circuits it is not realistic. IRL you can take both hands of the wheel on most straights and not risk the right-left feedback because it usually doesn't exist. And the vibrations on my DFGT in F1 2010 is very fun. However, I remeber that when I first got the game you could correct a spin (happened alot when it rained and I just had it) you can just slam on the brakes and turn to stop the spin. I'm very aggresive on the brakes in F1 2010 which lead to the Brake pedal spring braking so now it sqeuks when I press the pedal. F'in hell, had the wheel about 4 months when F1 2010 released and now the brake is broken so I have to use a bungie cord to stop it sticking on the 'on' setting.

Sorry about the mini essay

Power limiting... when tuning it, go to Engine and set the power limit so that the car goes down to 680bhp.

What rules are confusing? It's racing ;)

No I don't have a problem with when the AI pit. In fact it's good. They pit just as rain starts coming down which you need to in real life cause any damp places you may hit with slicks on you spin. It's the fact the physics allow me to go round for 5 laps in soaking conditions with almost no drop in lap time on slick tyres. Need to have a lot less grip and just generally in the rain with normal rain tyres.

The FFB is a lot stronger in GT5 than in F1 obviously but I don't know which one I prefer. FFB in F1 makes it easier to get used to the game with a wheel and as a result use it all the time now but on GT5 you need a lot of practice to get used to the 'rip your arms off' FFB. I do feel though that in F1 cars I should not be able to take my hands off the wheel all the way down Abu dhabi's straight and be fine. Alonso in Spain only took both hands off the wheel for like a second.

Btw I love on F1: Suzuka, Abu dhabi, Melbourne (favorite by a mile), sepang, Monza, Singapore and surprisingly valencia.

I have heard that Sony knew of a potential hack, became scared and pulled their own plug. Not so much as to change their security after a breach, but in fact damaging their own system by the manner it was shut down. If Sony was breached we would all have emails from Sony explaining our rights and advising of a security breach and such. Sony broke their own system taking it down and now they can't fix it.

hey guys I was wondering what the early pace was at suzuka, grand valley, and laguna seca? just wanna see how i stack up :)

1. Should we move the last five pages into the F1 2010 forum on GTplanet beacsue it sure hasn't been about GT5
2. I did a bit of testing at Indy with Jamman on tuesday or monday I think and I managed around 1.20.000 just a few hundreths above. Jamman did a 1.19.997 so i have the data for that circuit. I did a long run of about 25 laps and I could do 1.20.xxx on half tyre wear at the end of the stint. They I pulled out the 908 and could barely do a 1.25 but that was because of me not being used to the car. I'm perfect with the C60 hybride. Now I just need to learn to cope under pressure becasue I think I can run at the front if I can keep my cool.

EDIT: I was running 750bhp because I didn't hear about 680 until after PSN outage

Hmm... Not sure, but I think I did 44s with 760bhp, not sure though. Haven't been able to practice these last few days as you may have noticed, lol. So I would guess I'm in 45s with 680bhp.

Laguna Seca: 13s if it's a wonder lap, otherwise 14s and 15s.
Grand Valley: 37/36
Indy: 20s last time I raced there.

And Golfer: How would you move 5 pages? :sly: Just leave them, lol.

Can somebody put my name down on the
list. I dont know how to. I see some lunatic is setting up a 24hr La mans race.

Your killing me. In real life you have things like steering load, grip lossage over bumps, changing surfaces and road feel, etc. In F1 2010 these things are non existent and the track feels like it does in cruisin USA at the Casino arcade. :dopey:

As far as it being to strong, are you a pencil necked 11 yr old!!!??? I have run 25 laps with the FFB turned on on my DFGT in the X2010 at the Nurburgring 24 hour. 4:30 laps the whole way. I''m happy games today require some active physical effort, it makes it feel like your doing something rather than laying on the couch with a controller pointing a virtualy object down a track with no bumps and 32 frames per seconds (F1 2010). Sure the career mode is great and they have all the tracks but everything else is "rubbish".

Christ, players need to demand some real physics out of games. Else games will not improve. :nervous:

Of course he is a lunatic. The max you can do is 200 laps and that wouldn't be 24 hours unless you drive an MP4-12C stock for the whole race. Hmm I feel like playing COD4 and do the epilogue. Just done a second Indy 500 b-spec. That's the second time I have done 2 in a day. First time was A-spec. Now I just need to get to rank 40. 29 at the moment and K.Kobayashi is now rank 32.

1. Calm down
2. It's my opinion. I don't care what you think about it

I'm on your side Jamman. F1 2010 = great game of 2010. The best? Ha you must be having a laugh. GT5 beats it but the game was superb and I love it. Thumbs up if you love the Korea circuit!!

Also, I just searched "Playstation Network" in google. Predictably there is lots about the outages. A source at Playstation Universe said you can expect servers in Japan on monday and EU and US servers on tuesday. Lets look on the bright side here, we all progressed in our F1 2010 careers and are now better people because of it. Somehow.

Oh, and two things F1 2010 does way better than GT5 ever will do. 1. damage, 2. consistency with the physics, regardless of what you think of them.

Isn't a post like that considered spam?

Also, your colorful language in the post sounds a bit offensive to be fair. And I guess you are a happy iRacing fan then. No PS game will ever be as realistic as a PC simulator. Never tried the F1 game and won't be trying it either, but I know it was never meant to be fully realistic, but more entertainment and usually Codemasters are good at making them entertaining for the so-called casual gamers.

You got any links you want to share with us Golfer?

It's a pretty damn long time without PSN, makes you realize how much you actually use it.

OK, OKAY. I dont mean to offend, I often do that to people. :ouch: Codemasters could put some decent wheel support into their next game. But if they dont its because people are happy with it the way it is (no feedback.)
