Now, if you excuse me, I have to go and smash my Driving Force GT up every time I fail to acheive gold at both Suzuka and Nurburg in the X Vettel challenge. I have nothing better to do. Just wish I could stay calm.

Good luck, it's damn hard! I think I spent over 8 hours golding them with my G25. Unfortunately, I don't have enough space to set it up anymore, but I'm working on getting it this summer maybe... depends on how good DiRT 3 is going to be.

Or we could run the GTP Le Mans Prototype Time Attack Substitute Extravaganza. You get the idea. Unrestrict everything and jut drive at a cicuit that is in the game until you get bored and call out to everyone out in the series about how boring time attack is compared to racing

Also, I bear good news. If you have a PSP you will be able to download 2 of 4 possible games for free at your own choice. If you have a PS3, you can download 2 of 5 possible games at your choice. This sounds like good news. Hopefully the list will bee good.

I tried the X Vettel challenge. 30mins of failure later, I remembered that GT5 has people that are too brilliant and think the X2010 was a good idea for the world to see. No. That challenge is stupid because GT5 is a simulator. That is not simulation because in real life, no driver has to do an outlap and a timed lap at full 100% unless the track has a nuke in the paddock and its actually Iron Man at the Monaco fake GP. Its just stupid. And it cant be a simulator challenge because if you use no assists, then it is impossible because I doubt that even Vettel could get that car round that track like that. Even Senna. Just stupid. I want online back now because I won't think anything of GT5 untl I get to the online again. That challenge ruins my view of the game until I get online. Happens every time.

Doesn't help that one guy on my friends list, before the trade cap, said he would send me his carbon X2010 so I can dupe it and send it to my DS3 friend (before bronze was easier) and have one myself. Then he turned around when he was meant to send it and said no, I collect cars. He didn't understand that he would get it back. I mean what a 🤬
 
Notice how that challenge is only unlocked when you reach lvl 30? It's supposed to be a final challenge to test what you've got, after you wrap up the others. Do them if you want, don't if you don't. But one little challenge doesn't affect an entire game.

It's also very rewarding. I think it got me from lv 30 to 35 A-spec.. and I never really got any further, lol.
 
So, even if PSN goes back up at 1:59pm, we'll still have the race at 2 anyway, right? :dopey:

I got 2 carbon, a white, a yellow, a red, an orange and copper orange X1's from trading. I would've been happy to give you one if I knew you before the trade limit was introduced.

On a different note it looks like no race again this week :(
 
Watching an old series race or two during the PSN downtime really makes me with that you could export more interesting race data from the Results Screen, sending it to your email address or something similar.

Complete lap times for the entire race, lap charts, telemetry, etc. Would be so awesome.

Or maybe have a system that lets you share your favourite replays in game just like cars and photos and drivers (why this isn't already in the game I don not know. It will be similar to the theater mode in Black Ops) then have your idea built into a section of the HUD on the replay. And as a final WOW factor, have a time slider thingy like a youtube video because they are very usefull.

Also, since PSN went down I have done the following:
-finished GTA4
-finished Midnight Club LA for the first time since my old PS3 broke and lost my saves
-Just finished Modern Warfare 2 on veteran difficulty. All but th first mission I had to do on that difficulty. Was very enjoyable

If the network isn't up before Sunday then I will begin to play Bad Company 2 on the top difficutly. This may be hard for me to do since when I first got the game my PS3 broke, then I got a new one, played seriously for around a month with my best mate, then got bored and spent the next 6 months messing around and acting stupid on it. Still getting top place in matches. Very fun
 
GTA 4 was the shortest easiest game to beat. LOL, it took me a week, the summer of 2009 or 2008 I dont remember when it came out.

And no I didnt do the treasure hunt crap where you look for every little icon & item. Although the people you have to help are funny. LOL
 
GTA has never been hard. But the San Andreas one for PS2 was epic, way better than GTAIV.

I remember one of the gold trophies that says: "Complete the game in less than 30 hours"... and then I completed it in 19 hours :) I've got a friend who has the platinum trophy in it...

They really need to bring back air planes and the different kinds of landscape from SA, it was epic to parachute down the mountain :)

no PSN this week again, not surprised. They better start giving us free PS3s soon if they want us to stick around.
I started my 360 to play live, and i could only stand it for 2 hours. I miss PSN.

it took me 2 years to beat GTAIV lol
i still havent beaten, red dead redemption, fear 2 , Uncharted 2, Il2 Sturmovik, Tony hawks proving ground or black ops SP.

Oh well, keep practicing i guess. im not practicing GT5 single player.

Fleetwood Mac - The Chain. What a great and truly amazing song. I would use it as custom BGM but then it sounds like 2 minutes of silence followed by 30 seconds of a very quite F1 theme tune BBC
 
GTA is so much fun lol. I've been messing around on it recently just running over people and picking up some bitches. It's so easy and addictive, I've finished it 3 times. I miss the days when I played San Andreas. Please bring it back for GTA V!

I think Washington DC would be an interesting place for a GTA game. Although, I don't believe that Washington is well known for its drug trade and crime syndicates. Oh well. Maybe they could re create London! That is something I would want to play. Instead of playing as a mobster, you could play as a teenage hoodie who wants to make a name for himself in the world of crime. You could have a penthouse in canary wharf. Oh the possibilities are endless. Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Parliment. That would be great.

Just fired up GTA. Walked out my house and was surprised to see a bus in as the default car I have for that car when you leave. Very funny. Now I am going to attack the CC (UN) building

The reason for that is the last time you were playing you must have been driving a bus and parked it in the yellow space. You can put any car there and it will stay there, although I would think you know that. :)
 
Off-topicness as normal is everywhere I see. Suppose there isn't really much more to talk about with PSN been down.

So... now to wait for PSN, a long tiring wait.

But while I'm waiting I'm playing Ferrari Challenge! Started a new data and it's still a challenge! What fun. But the F430 Challenge is to easy...
 
Damn it, Audi only got 3rd at Spa. On the other hand, that result is excellent because they scored more points than Peugeot for the ILMC (maybe). Just wondering though, does anyone have any idea what the points system for the ILMC is (we could use it) and where on earth you can find the series standings. I can't find it on the ACO Le Mans website

So just now I was watching a replay of 1 of our pre-season test sessions. Some of you may remember the race at Grand Valley. GTP_Johny was in the lead by a long way ahead of bombe, me and bermudakid. Some idiot was driving the wrong way and crashed into Johny. I was the only 1 who managed to get through the carnage and win lol. I laughed so hard :D. There was a great battle with bombe, bermudakid and me until that happened on the last lap. Who else remembers that race?

And bombe, we all knew what happened in another race at Grand Valley lol.
 
Will next weekend still be a preseason race? I'm out of town next weekend for my buddy's batchelor party, and hope since we didn't have the preseason this weekend I won't miss the season opener..... :)
 
We have to have the pre-season race so we can finalize the grid for the season. And PSN will almost certainly come back up this time, so let's all be 100% prepared for the race.
 
Luckily I'm back on GT5! Time to break out my C9. But maybe I should wait. I seem to drive better when playing some other car game first.
