Good work BK. The results more or less match mine and bombes so the results are pretty consistent :)
 
I say 60kg on the Bentley again and rock out with 700hp. Let these british "hommes" fight with each other over .5 seconds.

I'm gonna devide the cars in class rankings, & maybe the bottom end cars will get an extra few ponies

I.e

Class 1+
Class 1
Class 2
Class 3
Class 4

Three criteria:

1. Not pink
2. Not a Midget
3. Not too cheap

I'm sure Santa will do as always - he'll drop by with presents while you're asleep. Leave milk and cookies (or is that in the US&A?).
 
BK did the stig have the add on spoiler on the audi 05 in those tests?

Rather than ballasting it, taking away the extra d/f seems to solve a lot of the advantages.

So, for your consideration BK, the last 3 season champs, Bombe, Jamman, and me just did some testing.

The Audi seemed close enough to equal with the BMW without it's added rear downforce.

If the Audi drivers (Jamman already has) agreed with this restriction, then it seems all we need to consider is the Bentley and Gt One
 
If the restriction is too have no added rear wing then that is impossible to enforce. Any how, with the new settings in restrictions, you can limit the downforce of the cars in theory. Work out PP with BHP and weight in regulations and then lower the PP so that max downforce can't be run or you have lower BHP or higher weight. Could be fun to mes with.

Btw the way, if the test shows that the Speed 8 is faster by one or two tenths, why does it need ballast? I mean I am hardly going to be blitzing the field with a car 2 tenths faster. I'm three seconds slower int he Spa middle sector.

It was a bit more than one or two tenths if you care to examine ;) Besides the testing results from me and bombe showed less than a tenth between them at most circuits when the Bentley had 60kg. Plus the Audi is now going to have less downforce. So it is fair. It's not the car, it's you
 
Tbh, the Stig-man's results doesn't reflect the cars' real performance atm. I won't complain though...

Bentley had 60kg last season and won, removing the ballast would be like shooting your brains out, golfer. Don't start again because you are using the Bentley (or are you??).

Anything else...

I had absolutely no chance at Seca with the 787B against the Audi - it could be me, but +2 seconds when I was doing best is not close race... :( Didn't get to finalize my fastest lap.

And the thing about PP+BHP is BS. It can only be PP or BHP+WGHT as it was before. At least it was in our room, I checked it. So, there's no other way to check the Audi for the wing other than set a PP limit for it.
Someone will need to confirm this though.
 
Also bombe says the Blazes GT-one setup is terrible. Which I see as an incredible compliment. That means it must have all been the driver that won for it in season 3 :sly:
 
It's not awful understeer, but it's understeer. I like my setup better, it'll ned a thumbs up in the garage thread, lol :D

Sorry I'm just loving this though. But in all seriousness I did say beforehand after trying everyone else's setup it made this one seem poorer. It certainly does.
 
I still haven't made up my mind as to car choice. Could be Bentley, GTOne or BMW. Leaning BMW with Tiss though.

I tested the Audi at Laguna Seca and managed a 1:12.4 at 650hp. Now tell me that's not worth having a look at. That's faster than anything the GT-One could manage there.

The GT-One isn't faster everywhere, my own tests, and bk's tests do show that. It struggles at Nurb GP/F and Laguna, because of how twitchy it is and the lack of grip at low speed relative to the Audi. It's got it good at high speed though, in terms of straightline speed, as well as cornering speed.

I really did like how the Audi handled though, and that was without even tuning it as yet. I'd use it, but I don't want any form of success in S5 to be pinned on the car rather than the driver.

And Jamman, I was much more interested in who was the fastest rallycross driver at turn six and the race between an Indian team and two Indian drivers to have the record of the first ever lap of Buddh International. Why are you posting any way? You should be standing in a queue waiting to purcahse Battlefield 3.
