Youre idea is good but i do think the slowest ones should get the best car to balance it all out vs the good drivers, not a bad idea

I'm trying to sort out points on my day off for teams / drivers / cars on a race-to-race basis but everyone keeps changing from week-to-week / quitting the series / getting banned / re-joining the series / changing cars / etc.

* sigh *

Sorry guys, I can't take this seriously when over half of the drivers who have apparently signed up or participate can't bother to take this seriously. BK has also expressed disappointment and frustration at having to chase down people via PM to actually show up.

I think this series would fare much better on a "come as you are, if you want" every weekend with only a drivers championship to win. Open entry, show up if you feel like it. The team stuff is too finicky.

I'll be racing week to week but I can't monitor every post of this thread anymore to see who is deciding to maybe think about changing teams / participating every week to I can push spreadsheet cells around. Exam time around these parts.

Random idea: to pick cars next season we could have a few kart races and also qualifying sessions to see true skill. Whoever has the lowest number when you add both the race and quali results together gets first pick. Also there would be "rounds" so 3 top drivers can't all pick one car

Not a bad idea but I wouldn't do it in Karts. Maybe a certain LMP as that's what we drive in the series full time :)

Why don't you just measure it on a week by week basis? For example:

This is my F1 league spreadsheet. Similar format to this except obviously with the less rounds. Which should make it easier. Much easier to keep track of everyone's progress too, and if someone loses points for a penalty etc you can go back and correct it for that certain round :)

It would take half the effort with only drivers' championship. The team stuff (to me) is mainly for fun as you can't depend on your team mates (sorry guys ;) ).

Exams this time of the year? Good luck, my exams are next summer.

Seth: Tissimo's 787B setup is good, if it understeers too much just tweak the camber a little, that's what I've done.

EDIT: Wow, Vettel, there's a massive attendance in that league, lol.

Yeah sure jamm, like the speed 8 or something.

Also amf, "mad" in American means "angry," and that meme was made in America, so it doesn't mean "are you crazy." I'm not angry btw so no

well.... amazingly across the pond it has a different meaning :p

BTW i would like to do what jam said same car but LMP

Arghhh what happened to the table!?!?!

At least bombe saw it anyway lol

EDIT: WooHoo it's back! So yeah, you know what I mean by race by race basis

In other news, it seems I can now play GT5 online like everybody else. Two days in a row now without the stupid error + the races in BK's lobby the other night. Somebody must help me find out if I can host lobbies myself one of the coming days, that would be a miracle!
What has changed? The new router, apparently. The two previous ones I had was the same model, but the new one is different - here's hoping. No, I know it has improved, definately.

HEYY theres me, 2 races and 2 wins :D

Congratulations on succesfully coloring in my spreadsheet in grey Jamman. Looked way better in black and blue. Any one not believing me, I can send you the link and it will have my google account attached as the owner. But I do think that my spreadsheet design (ambitious and rubbish so it becomes nice and simple) would work well with our series. I created a seperate sheet that can be duplicated and used to hold information on the race that just occured so we have race time and all that.

Also, we need a championship sponsor and a racing seat as the series prize. Those WSGT guys over there have 120 sign ups!!

I would just put up the money for a cool przie, but I know that has got to be a hastle when there's something of real value involved.

There would be 30 incidents a race if it was that way.

What router did you get? I need a cure for the same ailment, man!

A ZyXel something, but the previous one was a ZyXel too. I'm not in charge of it though, I just get whatever the company has and the previous one was so rubbish that they decided to scrap it and choose a new one as standard router.

EDIT: I don't like the idea of an actual prize, then it's no longer about the good racing. Besides, all of the pros (who wins) probably already have something similar anyway.
What I don't understand is how the company can have any interest in offering a prize in a GT5 racing series - how can the promotion be effective enough?

120 sign-ups - well, they can only have 16 in the lobby anyway... 104 souls lost before the race starts.

You homme. I tried using yours like that but it buggered up everytime I tried to use it plus it looked horrible. I found it easier just to create a new one. I created that.

I'll try out the cars tomorrow, in testing online with you guys. I tried Tiss' 787 setup, wasn't really thrilled with it, but that was pre-spec 2, so it possibly may be better. Perhaps bombe, you and I can dial it in for my driving style. I like sharp turn-in, but it has to be stable, i like it to be really tossable, not a big fan of oversteer though.

Tissimo's setup is quite fast, but it has extreme understeer. But it's a very good starting point. Camber and brake balance should be able to give it less understeer. I think it's good, at least I got my best result since my 3rd place in S3's first round, which was in the MINOLTA and before you joined the series (IIRC, not 100% sure) :)

with your track record of knocking people off the track while being lapped I wouldn't even let you sign up lol
so its lucky you've signed up to be a writer hehe

back to topic

looking forward to Saturday, last night I did a 35lap around le sarthe took around 2 hours but damn I had fun (didn't rain tho)

Once is completely unforgivable isn't it. Besides, my F1 2011 Homme race series track record doesn't carry over to GT5.

And created a spreadsheet that has the exact same design as mine. Hmmm.

Jamman created the standings over mine so mine no longer exists as evidence.

Golfer, stop now. Besides, that template could be made by a 10-year old anyway.

BK, have you answered our newly interested Thermite and Joetruck?

we need some more players so I guess the 2 new guys can join in, not sure what cars are fee though

Lol, you really think I'd copy an idea of yours? All the other tables on PRL were like that and it was a lot better. As I said I was going to use yours, but it was ****. Anyway believe me or not it doesn't make much difference to me, so believe what you wish.

Suzuka is going to be awwwwweeeessssome. Rain or dry. Rain I'm not (too) far off MU in reality after all my fearing, so that's always a good sign lol. But I'd rather it stayed dry or wet and isn't too changeable. I think that's where I may become undone

I think you guys should run the weather to what it'll be like in real life at the moment of time. So if its raining in Suzuka just before you start, set the weather to rain in GT5 etc etc. Although I think someone's mentioned this before?

I've looked at a few detailed weather on suzuka race track and they all point to rain showers during Saturday

Yes, that was my idea :)
