Rules:

You must drive the same car for the whole season that you started with. IF you decide to change cars you will forfeit all your points in the championship from the previous car / team

No ramming or bashing of other cars is allowed. All Drivers are expected to to read and follow GTP's Online Racing Rules

Cutting chicanes & corners is not allowed. 2 Wheels must remain on the track.

Overtaking: clean overtaking is the responsibility of everyone on track. Any racing incidents that happen as a result of poor overtaking, the overtaker may be held responsible and penalized. * If the defender is found braking excessively early to defend or to cause an incident they will be penalized.

**You are NOT allowed to overtake if order to make the pass its necessary to have wheels off the track in the grass or outside the white line boundaries.
EXAMPLE: At La Sarthe in the run from Muslanne to Indianapolis, if you have to cut across the grass in order to get by a driver while racing for position then you should not be overtaking. Or at Daytona trying to go two wide on between the turn 1 exit and turn 2.
This will be considered an illegal overtake & reckless driving which will be penalized

Track Position: If you gain a position by cutting a corner or pushing another driver off the track you must immediately allow that other person to pass you and give back that position back.

Blocking: Drivers are allowed one change of direction on a straight to defend. Its not considered a block if a car stays on its racing line while in a turn

Lapped Drivers: Back markers must yield faster traffic at the first safest opportunity. Lapped do not have to pull off the track to allow lead drivers by. Always allow faster lead cars to pass freely on straights.
Lead Drivers are not allowed to ram, push, or spin back markers off the track to get by - overtaking rules are still in effect.

Bump Drafting: NASCAR style bump drafting is not allowed. (really - do i have to mention this .......:boggled: )

Pit Lane: You must you the proper pit lane entry & exit section of the track. You must also slow down before entering the pit lane. (tracks like laguna you cannot enter the pits @ race speed) Drivers are not allowed to cross pit exit line when re-entering the track.

Race Incident reporting: To report a race incident (or a suspected incident) after the race post info on what happened and what lap in happened on in the group under the Incidents thread. You must give a lap or a time of when the incident happened.

Driver reputation system:
Each driver is going to start the season with 20 points next to their name.
You will lose points for causing race incidents / accidents and poor driving.
This system should help distinguish the clean drivers / from the not so clean drivers.
Any driver who receives multiple complaints from other drivers or is given a warning or a penalty will lose rep points.

Examples
* Knocking another driver off the track and causing them to lose their position -2 pts
* Knocking a driver off the track and causing them damage - forcing them to lose more than 1 position - 4 pts
* Getting caught cutting corners - 2 pts
* Cutting a corner to gain a position - 2 pts
* Passing on the rolling start before the start line - 2 pts
* Any other rule breaking & insistences not mentioned - 1 to 4 pts

Penalties: Race incidents will be viewed by the stewards and penalties will be assess afterwards.
* 10 second time added

* 15 second time added

* Drive thru penalty time added ( Not including stop time )

* 10 Second Stop & go penalty

* Loss of points

* Forfeited race position

* Disqualified from race results

* 5-10 Place grid penalty for next race ( next race driver participates )

Team Orders: If you hear "Alonso is faster than U" .... Then tell your race engineer to stfu and if Alonso wants to get by he can pass you like everyone else :lol:

Qualifying:

There is two stage qualifying for the series.
1: Room Lobby / Lounge will be open qualifying to post your fastest time. This will
determine your grid position for the qualifying race.
2: THEN After open qualifying there will be a 2-3 Lap Qualifying Race. (Short Tracks will be 3 laps - Long 2 )
* Qualifying Race will have a grid start

Racing:

Pace Lap: 1 lap will be added to the race distance for a formation pace lap. After qualifying drivers will be called one by one to exit the pit in the order they finished. The first driver will stop 100m after they exit the pit and everyone will line up behind them in order. DO NOT pass the driver in front of you. After everyone is out of the Pits the Race will be started.

Drivers will line up in a single File. A minimum of 3 car lengths must be between cars. You are not allowed to pass the the bumper of the car in front of you.

The Formation Lap speed limit is 100 kph / 60 mph
*Stay in your qualifying order
*Do not hit other cars or exceed the speed limit

Rolling Start: When pole driver turns onto the pit straight the race will go green flag once 100m from start/finish line. ((This point will be clarified before each race.)) No Passing is allowed until crossing the start finished line. Drivers will be penalized for false starts and illegal passing.

Pit Lane is closed during the pace lap. Drivers who enter the pits will recieve a penalty

if there is not enough drivers i may just cancel this series. :scared:

I believe that Jamman is in a Sunday F1 2011 league.

As for myself, I will race if it is neccesary to make up the numbers. If not then I will just sit in the reserves list. I'm a shadow of my SSR5 self.

Season 6 then. A new start. I must say I'm not expecting much this season, my interest in GT5 is low at the moment and am a shadow of my season 5 self so far. We'll see what happens though, first I need a new car.

Oh and btw I have been working on a series video. It isn't that advanced but I'm proud of it as it's my first self made video I've ever done. I'll have it up later this week anyway, just putting some final touches on it.

so BK isn't racing? Then who will host? Dear lord, every Sunday we will all turn up, bombe will probably host, ten minutes before the race everyone gets disconnected, we all get back in and then half the grid have the grip of sports tyres.

I cant host, you all know, but if BK cant even race at that time I think he should find another race time.

Because theres very little interest so far!

At least the weekday is going well!

How about someone that has a good, reliable and European internet connection hosts and manages the weekend series if BK can't make all the races?
We could even change the management system e.g. we all bring forwards good suggestions (I have a few) and then vote on what we want so we get a democratic series. Would have to use first-past-the-post system though.

Then we won't have to wait fro BK to start the series and stuff like that. I think me, with my vast experience of running race series and Patrick with his vast knowledge of spreadsheets that work (I have vast knowledge of spreadsheets that is so great they break as we all know) would be a good series management team. I have started to get bored of my games and getting the series back to strength would be fun.

One thing I will point out from the start: The interest in pure LMP racing on GTP seems to be dead. Here is an idea for you: WEC

Did you just mention me by my mortal name? Yikes! Don't.

We should rather have a poll and find out when the races should take place. Clearly, nobody's interested in racing on Sundays. We had decent interest in S5, so maybe going back to Saturdays - even though I like Sundays better myself.
It's just not easy to find out how and when, when everybody has vanished all of a sudden (Jake, Drum, BK, Seth, Razor, Tis).

And finally, wth is WEC?

I haven't vanished. But I'm not racing Sunday's. It never works out with my g/f, I always hear it. Plus 680hp makes the tires go poo after 5 laps, that's lame. I'd rather have LMP2 type power and have people able to race eachother closer since less power=longer tire life.

Vast experience? Of failing :sly:

No reason not to do a pre-season or something. Anyway last time I checked you were banned, so you should really move on from here :sly:

Let me get this straight. You want to run the series? You have a vast experience of running series.... that suck.

Incase you forgot you made the tyre challenge, Rallycross series, FGT series, F1 2011 tyre saving thing and the ROC all of which completly failed. In fact 4 out of them 5 just had a thread made and never got started, and the one that did had an average participation of 4 people per race. You are the worst nominee I could think of.

BK should be hosting, he should've never changed the time if it meant he couldn't race.

I haven't vanished. But I'm not racing Sunday's. It never works out with my g/f, I always hear it.

'Course you haven't, you was the only guy to actually anwer my PM on PSN... hence why I crossed over your name, but I was a tad too late ;)
--

First thing needing to be done is that BK should be able to race himself if he wants to host. Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesdays, whatever... then take it from there.

WEC is World Endurance Championship.

And the reason that my series were failures (with the exception of the Tyre Challenge) was the same reason this is failing at the moment, lack of interest. We need to reinvent the series into something where lots of people will sign up like before. And yes, I know that alot of you don't like the idea of class racing but trust me, this is the best idea we have here. We have GT cars (GT500 or the likes) and then we have the LMP cars with more power and downforce. Currently only one GTP series runs this format and for most European guys, the time is way too late (3am on Sundays) so if we changed the series to this then it could a big boost in attendance.

The people wanting to drive LMPs get to drive LMPs and we also get GT sign ups. 8+8. In the normal LMP races we get about 3/4 guys running for the win and then everyone else racing down the field. Real LMP racing is also about lapping the other cars.

Now, if we did this, say we get a very large amount of sign ups and we have 16 GT drivers and 16 LMP drivers. What we then do is have an A and B server. Top 8 GT driver and LMP drivers in the A server, others in the B server. Pre-season will run the same format. The times for the LMP drivers in both servers are compared to give a finishing position in LMP from 1-16 and the same for GT. When we get to Le Mans, we have a GT server and an LMP server.

This is the system ran in the GT500 series for ages and it works. Trust me. Actually, the GT500 series said drivers 1,3,5,7...... race in server A and drivers 2,4,6,8.... in server B to balance the whole field. Means that even if you are leading the race, you ahev to push on since you don't know what is happening in the other server. This means that people are unlikely to build massive leads and then just maintain pace, they will push on hard and they may crash and loose everything, thus it promotes hard racing from lap 1 to the last lap.

And what makes you presume we will get 32 drivers? We struggle to get 16 now as it is. I dont think including GT cars will suddenly make a whole crowd flock to the series. It's got flaws all over it. This will never happen here, I'm sure BK will have sense.
