GTP Le Mans Series- Intrest/Sign up

@ RACECAR and others: I'm back! Please, fill me in on any new thoughts and feelings towards the series. Friday or Saturday I will be starting an info/sign-up thread.

Good to have you back. here's some things I have went over and would to know what you think:

Schedule: The races would take place on the same weekend as the American Le Mans Series race, so for anyone participating, they would get a PM reminding them one week prior about the qualifying and the race.

Length of qualifying and Practice: qualifying would last for two hours, and then on race day Warm-up would be one hour before race.

so far this is what I have and its negotiable if you like.
 
So, with qualifying being two hours and warm-up being an hour I have a few questions and concerns.

When reading your post I got the impression that with the time limits on rounds we'd all attempt laps in each session at approximately the same time and submit at the end of the designated period. Is that the case? Or will there just be something like a two hour time period to submit quali times. I think in both cases we'd have to confirm "good" times for everyone. Not everyone will be on the same schedule. Did I interperate that wrong? Is it just like, each driver has the responsibility to run a session within a one or two hour limit, all attempts outside this two hour limit are illegal? I guess if we're running alongside the real ALMS schedule we wouldn't start an official season untill Sebring 2007. Would you want to run "test" races at the Petit or Laguna... or both? I think for some people it may be hard to submit every round, as I myself go to three or four ALMS events a year and wouldn't be able to run. Could the deadline for times be Monday following race weekend so even if one missed practice, qualification and warm-up they could submit a penalized (maybe "start from pitlane") time? Or would those who miss qualification just be removed from the weekend?

i dont think running along with ALMS is a good iddea becuase the we have to wait until march
 
I agree with racefan. If we wait too long (and we've already done plenty for various reasons) competitors may get a bad image in their heads about the series under its current administration. Secondly, the idea may just lose favor with the competitors.

1. I'm aware of that so for that reason I haven't put up a certain time yet, but they can submit times during those two hours and yes any attempt outside those two hours is illegal.
2.I didn't take that into account so I will rectify that error. if they at least make it by warm-up, they'll start from the back(submit a penalized time). if they miss Qualifying, practice and Warm-Up,they will be excluded from that weekend.

these can be futher Negotiated if you like.

and Racefan88501, I have thought deeply about what you said so I'll take it into consideration. in fact, you won't have to wait any longer for the season to begin.
 
The GTPLMS will be getting underway as soon as possible. I will have a brand new info and sign-up thread up by tommorow night (central :P )! Expect to see generic rules, a tentitive race schedule and some form of a car list.

Our deadline of 10 Central is still up, but I've run into a snag with the GT classes. Prototype is looking good. Neither class has a great array of cars but there will be plenty of seats in Prototype's available when the sign-up thread goes up. All will be unvailed!

Well. I'd prefer each driver running only one car. At least to start with. As There is a special class for our three endurance races. You'll understand when the thread goes up.

THREAD UPDATE: Fire and brimstone is deserved over here. I made a promise a little to soon. The LM GT2 class is way out of wack and I'm a wee bit worried about the LM GT1 class as the specs I have are very different from the specs I was provided by a friend. He, of course, did the smart thing and tested on more than one track! I just got the cars close in HP, KG and lap times at Laguna and assumed all would work out. Of course, cars have different attributes so I could be very wrong. The thread shouldn't be rushed, and it won't. Y'all will get it when you get it. The GTPLMS is about to take off. I hope y'all get on board.

For the GT1 cars, what about the CLK touring car? I would definitely like to join if that is used, but I'm going to opt out if it's decided to be done in Arcade mode. Too long of a series to have to deal with a car that I can't change the settings for the track.
 
Well Geo, this series is not for you. Arcade mode and no CLK GTR.

Hey Neil,

I'm at a crossroad. One way... wait for the LM GT1 and LM GT2 classes to be cemented by my good friend RACECAR. The second, post the thread with a tentitive LM GT1 and LM GT2 list, what do y'all think?
