"GTP Lite" is a second style, or "skin", that you can use to browse the GTP Forums with a slightly different look. GTP Lite was designed with minimal graphics and code to ensure the fastest-possible loading times for users with slow internet connections or browsers that are not compatable with technologies used in the default style.
How can I change my options to use GTP Lite, or go back to using the GTP Default style?
Go to your Account Options and scroll down until you see the "Forum Skin" option, where you will then find a small drop-down box which allows you to change the style that you use. Then just click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page and all will be set. (Note: This setting is for your own account. When you visit the site not logged into your account, you will use the Default skin like any guest. Log in to your account and it will be what you set it to be.)
Why would I want to use GTP Lite over the default style?
- GTP Lite contains less code and graphics, providing for a smaller page size. This, in turn, will allow the page to load faster on your computer, especially if you are using a slow internet connection or computer.
- Your browser may experience compatability problems with the default style, or may have trouble displaying the Macromedia Flash animation. GTP Lite has no such animations and uses more basic components that are not as likely to cause problems.
- If you have selected the option to browse the forum without cookies, you are likely to encounter some errors due to some modifications made to the default style. Using GTP Lite, you will not experience any of these problems.
Why isn't "xxxx" feature in GTP Lite?
GTP Lite was created using the default vBulletin templates to ensure the fastest loading times and to ensure the most compatability across different platforms, therefore some extra modifications and changes made to the default style will not be visible in GTP Lite.
