Eh, I'm sure it's been pointed out, but you can easily access a user's contact information like this in their profile. My AIM is Jpec2, and has been for years and years - since even my joining of this forum so long ago...

Yes, but a lot of people don't want to seach for each user's profile one by one. It is quite time consuming, so I put them all into one, easy list.

Another benefit is if you've forgotten who a contact's username on GTP is (I forget), you can quickly check the list without asking.

Well, the reason he probably didn't add it, is that he didn't see it. You put your info in white text (that blends in with the backround), and if you didn't want that, you should've put it in normal text. 💡
