Well I have found a bug but I figured it may not be the only one and if I post it in the main thread it may get lost with the many replies that are going in.

So I have made this thread so that people can report bugs in GTP X.

Mine is for example when I click on the Funny Pic Thread or the Fail thread, the name for the tab says 'Funny Fail!!!!' or 'Funny Funny Pic Thread'. I am guessing the prefix has made its way up into the tab, nothing major but it is a big weird to read.

1) Appears you are correct as the other prefixes do the same thing.

2) I'll second The Vanishing Boy's issue with Times showing up instead of Verdana. It doesn't appear to be an issue with a new post, just when you quote.

3) It doesn't look like it happens all the time (so it might just be on my end) but the header image sometimes changes twice when I reload a page.

4) The Profile page doesn't show any Recent Visitors.

Thanks Legendary, I've started a running list of known bugs in my original thread and will take care of that shortly.

3) There's nothing fancy going on with the background image, so it's probably just your browser loading something new from the cache.
4) That's by design, I decided to remove the list of users who have recently visited your profile. The feature would sometimes make me think twice before visiting someone's page, and I'm sure I may not be alone, so I decided to do away with it.

I can see where you are coming from. One day I had all my visitors as moderators, obviously they were talking about me, it makes you worry a bit sometimes.

Nah, we just do that to freak out certain users from time to time. :lol: (J/k)

One thing I've noticed is that my PM settings which had the "Request Read Receipt For This Message" always set to on, is now off again, and I can't seem to find anywhere to turn it back on permanently.
It's useful for tracking race result submissions, and checking whether users have read administrative messages especially if they're continuing to violate AUP when they've already been warned.

So I'm not the only one, either! :p
 
I can confirm your images aren't loading with IE8 (they're fine in other browsers), Mars. However, nothing about the new style changed with regards to how images are displayed. For now, my advice would be to load them on to some other image hosting service, such as TinyPic, Photobucket, or Imageshack.

You made this thread quick after GTPX even came. Did you have doubts and complaints about X for a while? :sly:

Excuse me if I dont understand your question but you worded it terribly. Did you ask me if had didnt like GTP X when it came out or what?

I didnt have any doubts about the success of Jordans revision, its his site, he does what he likes and what he feels is best. Whats best for him is best for all of us. The site looks incredible, I made this thread for people to report bugs in so Jordan doesnt have to dig his own thread to find them.

I'm pretty sure this is a bug as its done it on more then just my laptop, but always on google chrome so maybe its a browser thing?

Bug:
When clicking on the navigation tree at the top of a thread to go back to the main "GTPlanet" bit that shows all the different sections, it only loads up like the top section of it and thats it.

Solution:
Having to reload it by clicking on the main "forum" button at the top of the page, so maybe the navigation tree is linking to the wrong address or something?

Maybe its just my laptop and PC but doesnt seem right, let me know if you want anymore info :)

EDIT: Sorry i just realized i was pushing the wrong button to get to the level of the forums i was wanting :lol: oops :)
 
I found a glitch with the top buttons, If you hover with the mouse in the white area of the page just below the grey strip it still registers as the buttons clickable areas. So basically the button seletion areas are wider than the actual buttons.

What browser and OS are you using, Robin?
 
It may be related that just before 4:45 I tried to sign in for the first time after work and got a vB error a couple times.

EDIT: Seems like pages are loading just a tad slower than they used to. At least it looks different, instead of scrolling quickly it pauses, then loads everything at once.

EDIT 2: And just after I posted that edit I had three more database errors. Doing some quick changes?
 
Yeah, I have been getting database errors left and right, right now. I got a couple trying to enter this thread.
 
Uh, that doesn't have to do anything with GTPX...

Thats just because of the sheer amount of people trying to load stuff on the site, particularly the E3 thread.
 
I just noticed the recient visitor section of user profiles no longer shows recient visitors, just the numer of visits. Is that a glitch or was it intentional to remove the list?

It was done by our GTP God.

I know cache has to do with a system. But I have always wondered what exactly a cache is and what it does. Can anyone help this yearly wondering question?

The recent visitors list would feel like you have stalkers. Especially to the new folks.

Think of a cache like your kitchen cabinets - you keep food in them so you don't have to run down to the store each time you want something to eat. Similarly, your web browser's cache stores files that you've downloaded (images, Javascript source files from websites, etc.) on your computer's hard drive so it doesn't have to download them again each time you load a new web page.

I'm going to hazard a guess that you've disabled Javascript in your browser. It's required for the main search engine function to work.
