I don't care for the neon-green and orange icons for "new posts", "hot thread", etc . . . too busy, IMO.
I actually wasn't expecting member names to receive such a harsh reception. By making them bigger, they should make it easier and faster to recognize a user in your peripheral vision, especially if they don't have an avatar. But, whatever, it doesn't make that big of a difference to me, so I changed it to normal font.-change member names back to verdana bold, put the profile link back under the posts.
It is used fairly often, actually, and will hopefully be used even more now that it is more visible.-get rid of the jumbo 'report post to moderators' button... how often does that even get used (legitimately?).
All of the cars in the top image are some of my personal favorites, and I selected each image of the cars based on their color and orientation. As for the rotation, I might throw in some new ones every now and then, but I'm not going to guarantee anything.maybe add a 300ZX and a camaro or something to break up that euro-fest that's happening in the banner image.
I'm sorry, MazKid, but I think all signatures appear much more professional without marquees. Your signature is a perfect example! With less clutter, you draw the user's attention to that one link, begging them to click on it. It's much more effective from a usability standpoint for anyone using their signature in a way that someone such as you would do.Also we need marquees!! Please?
Yes, that has come in handy in the past. I'll see what I can do...I would also like to see post numbers in threads(like on GTP4, we had the blue underlined numbers in the top right corner of each post, I liked that cause I could see where I scroll to when I revisited the thread).
I think it is more practical to limit smilies to ones that display actual emotions, and there isn't really a need for automotive logos in signatures.Make car logos smilies so we can use them in our sigs.
I would if there was a simple way to impose a time limit, but there isn't in the current version of vBulletin. I'm suprised the floodcheck time of 30 seconds didn't catch you...Damn, double post. How about an option of being able to delete your own posts, within a time limit or something similar though.
No, they are on the same server. It probably took you longer to load them because these new copies were not in your browser's cache. Are the smilies on a backup server they took 5 minutes to load them all!
That's actually done on purpose, because vB would display little locks on some forums which aren't actually open for new posts and could throw some poeple off into thinking that forum is closed. I need to edit that out of the template...I noticed that in the GTP Forum's main page, at the very bottom where it says no new posts, no new posts, etc., the symbols are the same for a closed forum and no new posts.
I think it's you - I haven't changed the colors. Is it me? Or is GTP5 going brown on me? I'm really not sure, but it looked a lot whiter an hour ago on a laptop screen...
If someone manages a club as impressive as MazKid's, I will gladly provide them with their own forum. In my opinion, why even have a MAZ forum. You don't see like a Ford, Chevy, Dodge Forum.
Yes, I'll get around to updating the GTP Lite templates to include express reply sometime soon. I just didn't have time to do it earlier, so everything on GTP Lite is pretty much default right now. Also . . . I plan on using the "GTP Lite" style almost all of the time, and I really think that the "Quick Reply" feature should be included in it. More time will be saved by using it instead of the full-length reply than will be saved by slimming down load-time without it. Did that make sense???
Yes, I think it looks more uniform for each thread to have an icon. The load time should be insignificant, because after it loads once it is cached from there on down the page and any subsequent forums viewed by the user. Also, did you mean to have the "page" posticon selected by default? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, although it does slow load time slightly.
That's a very good point, I'll update the link to direct you to the account options page instead of the thread.Originally posted by youth_cycler
Ah, one more thing about GTP Lite--
Something has kind of hit me... if someone changed their settings so that they would use GTP Lite, wouldn't they already know how to change it back to default? (regarding the link at the top)... it just seems logical, you know...![]()

Okay, A fairly simple suggestion to implement.... How about putting "Welcome Back to GTPlanet, Membername!" back at the top of each page. That was how I glanced to figure out if I were logged in or not. Also, this was probably stated earlier, but I'd like to see the post count in threads reinstated at the top right of each post(Not user post numbers, mind you). Without them, it makes it kind of difficult to scroll through posts.
I think my problems with cookies are fixed too btw, I didnt clear them but it seems to have fixed itself.
