You have the option to vote for your preferred car for Stage Two. The car with the most votes will be the car all drivers must use.

  • Ferrari 599 '06
  • Ferrari California
  • Ferrari F40 '92
  • Ferrari F430 '06

Feel free to discuss before or after voting.

All votes are viewable to all.

Only those who are eligible to take part in this race can vote.

I'm not going to vote just yet. But I have to say after driving the california, it is my least favourite car to drive. So any of the other 3 choices for me would be what I will vote for once I see which one seems to be most popular.

Thinking about it a bit more, would be nice to either do the 599 or f40 as we already have done the f430 for the registry.
 
I like the California too - I find it the easiest to control, dependant on a good setup for it.
Having said that, I like the idea of a competition involving the F40, because nobody uses it much at the moment.
 
As I'm only a spectator or half-arsed race official in this event I won't vote for a car, but if I could I would vote for the F40. A true driver's car, according to many the finest and purest Ferrari ever built, with an exceptional exhaust note and great to use for a challenge.
I wonder if you racers would like to depend the car choice on the track that our steward will be picking for you?

Yep, I've updated the first post to highlight that only those eligible to race can vote.
 
Good, and I also have now read that the track is already known.

The race details say you should pick 750pp, but I hope that means the online race NOT the car specifics. Colby's car choice spreadsheet gives the following pp max figures:

430 - 693
599 - 689
f40 - 679
cali - n.a. at the time

There many things still in there that were intended for the last International event, and a lot of things yet to be added.

California or F40. Either would be fine, but I'd like to go with the Cali just because it's the newest and thus least driven (for me anyway) vehicle.

Thats the exact reason I don't like the california. Driving it I feel like i'm in standard physics mode because it grips unnaturally. It steps out letting off the throttle but the car in no way spins out like an elise would. Maybe I'm the weird one actually lol.

I'd be happy with either the Cali or the F430, but I voted the Cali, cause we already used the F430 for the qualifier.
 
Honestly, I prefer the 599 because of the way it handles but to make the event "more" fair I chose the Cali because it is a new car and most of us will have less experience with it (hopefully putting as all on equal ground as drivers). I had an epiphany last night and was hoping that Stage 2 would allow each driver to choose and tune the car for the other driver. Now that would make for some wickedly competitive races.

In my opinion that would make the race very uncompetitive.
I would just set up the worst tune possible for the other racer so that I would certainly win.
The other driver will probably do the same thing, so it'll be hard just to keep the cars on the track.
 
I've driven all the cars in the Ferrari event and had the most fun with the 599 and 512. While I've had some great races in the California against some of the speed demons on here, I find it a bit too easy to extract the speed from it. While this makes for good close racing it doesn't leave much room for driver skill to shine through. Some might say the 512 is at the other end of the spectrum being a bit more difficult to drive consistently quickly. In the end I compromised and voted for the 599 which I think strikes a good balance.

Ok, I get the hint.

I've been quite busy with work and school. Seems lately when I have the time to sit down and race my girlfriend is off work as well, so I tend to try and find things we can both enjoy.

The last races I didn't know about until they were over thanks to a week and a half of straight graveyard shifts, and then 6 hours of school.

Thankfully, the person normally on graveyard is back and my new schedule allows for 3 days off. So, I am really going to try and stay on top of the race schedule.

How in the world do you expect anyone to win except folks in Div 1 Gold if we allow "driver skill to shine through"? :sly:

However, I do agree with you completely - I like the 599 as well and it is my car of choice at the event when not in the Cali.

Wrong there is an event in suzuka with the Cali & everybody is using it.... except some strange fellows like me in BB512, F40 or F599.... don't choose the Cali it's too boring :sly:
 
599 gets my vote, what a gorgeous car and is probably less popular than the other choices. Congrats on everyone to making it here.

I say we just merge the 599 and f40 voters :D I'm sure most of them would pick the f40 over the cali.
