Yeah i thought as much. I saw alot of GTP_ scores in the top 100 and I've got to say i was very impressed as they are a good 3-5 seconds faster than my best time.

Remember not to discuss the times privately or publicly, or give information which can be used to infer a time, as that's prohibited by the rules.

Also note that there are a lot of fast people on these boards! 👍

After all, that's the reason for having different classifications in the first place!

Sphinx, I thought that my lastest september university test was on 8th September, but it's on 10th September, so I want to be sure about a detail about the new change in the date:

When on english you say midnight 14th September GMT, you mean that the limit is 23:59 GMT of the 13th? or 23:59 of the 14th?. I'll try to submit my time on 11th or 12th anyway but I want to be sure in case of a delay of my free time. Thanks and good luck to all.

By the way, is possible to know a percent or how many people have sent you a time? I'm just curious about how many of those 531 members are still active.

It's up to Sphinx, of course, but I think releasing the number of submissions received before the event is complete would be a bad idea, as it would allow participants to guess roughly where they stand by comparing that number to the count of those listed in the top 100, at least where Division 1 is concerned.

Good point, I didn't though that. You're right 👍

On a similar theme to Aero-R's question, does anyone know how many divisions are there likely to be? (sorry, don't know how to include quotes).

For the original WRS, there are 3. However, if this thread is any indication, it looks like the current plan is for 4 divisions.

I think the real answer is: "As many as there needs to be."

Got the updated deadline. Fortunately it is immediately after that two week gap of no plans that I intended to use for this.

That said, I will apologize in advance if it gets in on the last hour. Real life is odd sometimes.

EDIT - Sorry, ignore this, I just re-read the initial email and it's all in there.

Sorry, another question regarding submissions.

Do we only have to submit the time initially, or do you want the replay video too?

For the replay videos do you want the replay data emailed to you?

Cheers,

Pete

P.S. I don't get the REALLY quick times! I'm on the absolute limit and shaving the odd tenth here and there and I'm miles off the record. Ridiculous.

Mind you, it's possible that most people would be thinking that about me in real life. BIG ;)

No, you only need to submit the time. But you need to keep the replay in case Sphinx asks for it for whatever reason, such as the reason given in the Qualifier thread:

Sphinx
Submission:

All submissions must be sent to Sphinx via PM:

* you can submit only ONCE (be sure to give it your best effort)
* please include in your PM, your GTP_Registry PSN ID, your location and all 3 times (T1 split, T2 split and final lap time)
* please name the PM subject title ‘GTP_Registry Qualifier (Submission)’. Any ambiguous subject titles can easily be lost.

Time Verification:

Save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay', and keep it at least 6 weeks after your time has been submitted:

* top 10 fastest times from each division will be required to submit a replay for verification (do not rely upon the online database for storing your replay)
* any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
* when a time verification has been requested, the driver concerned must provide a replay within 3 days
* failure to do so will result in the submitted time being ignored for official registration
* video replays are not accepted (video replays = .avi .mpg movie files etc)

Sounds like you found YOUR limit not THE limit. Time to submit :D

Just a question, how do I actually get the Replay data off GT5P onto my PC if i need to submit my replay?

USB memory stick. SD Card if your PS3 has card readers.

How to save & submit a replay:

-Save your replay using the "save best lap replay / ghost replay" -function
-Quit game
-Insert a USB Storage Device
-Using the XMB, select game, select Saved Data Utility
-Scroll down to your Replay
-Press triangle & select copy
-Select the destination for the copy of your replay (USB Storage device)
-Copy it
-ZIP the PS3 Folder (if you have lots of other replays there, zip only the folder containing the Qualifier lap)
-submit to Sphinx

When i plug in my USB harddrive the PS3 doesnt recognize it, or do i have to go somewhere to view the contents in the drive so i can copy/paste into the usb harddrive?

Follow the instructions in the post above - you don't have to access the USB drive at any point. Just go to the file in your Saved Data Utility, press Triangle and "Copy" while the drive is plugged in.

However, some USB drives don't work with the PS3. I don't know why, and nor have I ever encountered one.

If you're using an external HDD then make sure that your first partition on the HDD is in FAT.

Good shout 👍 I didn't think about external HDDs.

I use an IPOD for transferring. Just make some folders on the ipod through the PC like "PS3" then inside that "SAVEDATA".

If I plug it in whilst the PS3 is on the XMB, the PS3 won't read it. I have to plug the ipod in while the PS3 is switched off (standby is fine) or running a game then quit to XMB so it'll read the ipod. My friend had the same problem with a USB stick where you had to have it plugged in before turning the PS3 on.

hey guys sorry for the stupid question but its not clear enough for me.. so: When i am sending my new PSN ID, do i have to send my best time right away or the time can be sented later?

The time must be sent later. You cannot do both in one PM, since the PMs require completely different subject lines.

Hopefully, I'll be able to register by 21st or 22nd(assuming Real life doesn't screw me up like it has the last four times).

It would be too late.

Dear GTP_Registered member,
Due to the anticipated Autumn/Fall update, I have decided to bring forward the GTP_Registry Qualifier deadline to Midnight (GMT) September 14th 2008.

Please submit your qualifier as soon as possible and try not to leave it until the eleventh hour.

Are split time's the first two sector time's combined and then the second two sector time's combined?

No. Split times are what are displayed on the screen as you pass each sector point. One under the bridge, one over the bridge.

Edit: Tree! :D

Great, it just screwed me yet again. Now I'm not gonna get my PS3 in time to register:indiff:

thanks for clearing that up. thats more or less what i thought but when you look at the map of the track it looks like there are four sectors indicated by arrows so it got abit confusing.
