  • Power: At most of 340hp.
  • Weight: No change after purchase.
  • Driving Aids: Optional
  • Transmission: Optional
  • Tuning: Only with Horse Power.

Something you should know about the horsepower!!!: Some racers and I have recently noticed a little issue with the hp. For example: If you tune your car up to 591hp, then when you enter the time trial, the hp will show up with a bit higher amount of power. Do not worry about what the time trial says about the hp, just worry about the hp when you are in the tune shop.

Race Specifications:

Your Run must be completely clean at all times.
{Stay on the track}
{No more than 2 wheels on the grass/dirt, with the other wheel(s) on the rumbles or the track}

Crooooooow's notes:
I have always had a crush over this car ever since I purchased the earlier version in Gran Turismo 1. The big change in the spoiler is unique, with an uplift with the headlights. Goes from asleep

to awake

* Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
* Runoff areas are not part of the track
* No contact with walls, objects and non-gravel terrain (with all 4 wheels), visible or invisible
* If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
* No hybrids
* No cheating of any kind,these are relaxed races
* Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules

Thread rules:

The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):

The following information can be discussed in this thread :

* Any Settings Discussion
* T1 and T2 times

Submission: All times must be sent to me by Private Message (Subject title: GTP_WGT3RS Week 1 Submission)

* You can submit only once
* Please include in your submission PM your division, final lap time
* The deadline is Saturday August 7th 11:59 GMT
* If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why is GMT important?

GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the center of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Good Luck to everyone, and have fun!

If there is anything here that you are unsure about, just tell me.

Count me in. At least for a few. Shhhhhhhh.... don't tell Viperin. :sly:

What type of tyres? And I am having a hard time finding this car. It is not on the prize list in guides and not avail for sale that I can see. There is a FTO but that has the red R in the specs. Is that it? Sorry for being dense if it's right in front of me.

hmmm will have to break open my GT3 again...:D
so how about the tunnel gray areas? after the rumble strips. On your "rules/ guide"
says "At most of 2 wheels in the grass/dirt"

I know this has changed in the past from race to race and organizer.

----so what is up with the Opel in the first pic :confused:

Purchase the Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo '99. It is the only version with the big spoiler.

So how about the tunnel gray areas? after the rumble strips.

Same rules with the gray run-ons.

Yes, there is different terrain all around Midfield.

So what is up with the Opel in the first pic :confused:

Since there are not any pictures with the GTO at Midfield. Those pictures are suppose to be mainly the selected course.

Any other problems, I am happy to help.

The first post has been updated.

It is named the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 And there is no 99 in the description. Yes, the game came out in 1999-2000. But proper names are a big help. Especially for those of us who are not car geeks.

Saves us time typing and searching through the game.

count me in. i haven't play GT3 for a while so i'll have to dig it out of my stack of games.:) this should be fun.

Oh, my apologies. I was reading the GT3 Guide here at GTP, and it read the GTO Twin Turbo '99. Details updated!

Yes, the game came out in 1999-2000.

2001 actually.

No prob. And sorry for me missing the tyre setup in the thread above.

Bought the GT and took it over to the tune shop. Added two things from the engine section. One was the racing chip. In the shop it shows in green numbers that the total HP is 340. But on the race screen it shows 345. Just wanted to make sure I'm on the same page. And bought sports tyres. Is this correct?

I added the tire specifications after you mentioned about them. No worries.

I have witnessed the same thing. Do not worry about what the time trial shows with the horse power, just worry about what the tune shop shows how much horse power your car has.

Details updated! With the comment about the change in horse power between in the tune shop and the time trial.

Give it time, give it time. WGT3RS was born Thursday.

Hehe , I'm in. I guess competition is welcome. 👍

The "big wing" GTO comes stock with 306 bhp and weights 1710 Kg .
We use sports tyres. (you need to buy these)

The car will gain hp the first 300 km you drive with it. See this link.
306 bhp * 1.03 (engine break in) = 315.18 bhp
So the car's bhp will go up by about 9 bhp.

To make sure you don't exceed the bhp cap of 340 it is preferable to buy:
sports , semi racing and racing exhaust upgrades , racing chip and boght sports and racing inter-coolers.

The thing I do is:
Every time I do a new lap record in the GTO , I save the ghost replay and then go check if the bhp was 340 or under. (in the setup menu)
If the bhp was over 340 I go change the power upgrade parts to lower the bhp to match the limit.
Usually I get 337 bhp by combining different parts together.
As a standard I keep checking the mileage meter and keep in mind , that for every 100km /63 miles the bhp will go up by ~3 bhp.

Now if I had done the new record lap with more than 340 bhp I delete the saved replay.
And then exit the free run and return to it again to reset the ghost.

The replay save menu usually displays different bhp than garage or settings menu , so I use the settings menu/(garage) bhp only to check the bhp.

Now another thing I'd like to get a confimation to:

After T2 at tunnel , there is red-white rumble strip.
Are we meant to keep atleast 2 wheels on it or can we drive beyond that at that specific spot.
Because between the rumble strip and wall there is hard surface that could be used for just a little wider exit of the left hander into the tunnel.

I have currently 2 laps that are 0.03x seconds from each other and the faster one was wider (like I wrote above, beyond rumble strip) at the tunnel entry.
Small difference , but everything counts :D

My current splits:

T1 25.xxx
T2 50.xxx

You can have no more than 2 wheels on that rumble strip.

Well I guess I'm off of this one...Turned on my GT3 to find out I re-started and I am in day 10...
Good luck to all...

I'm not buying that..

You still have your maxdrive don't you , so pick one .
(I did some research and what 'ya know)

I would have had a starter pack and/or 100% completition for you if you had been in PAL region.
